When she finally did come out of the shadows, it was to meet with several "leaders" of the protest that no one had ever heard of and weren't actually associated with BLMKC. When she finally did meet with BLM leaders and protestors, she avoided answering questions (including responding to a question about what she's doing to decrease police attacks on peaceful protests by telling a story about how her family immigrated to the US), repeatedly defended the police by saying they were only responding to attacks by protestors (despite multipe videos showing police being the instigators), and by responding to requests to make police officer uncover their badge numbers and stop using rubber bullets, pepper spray, CS gas, etc on protestors by saying those need to be reviewed by the various police accountability groups when those groups have already reviewed the tactics of the police and unanimously recommending banning CS gas and focusing on de-escalation tactics rather than use of force..

Racism in America is the ugly face of something that has equally long roots: a culture that promotes violence and hatred against the "other", with that other most distinguishable physically when we focus on racism against blacks and POC, but which can easily target anyone else, including "liberals", "communists" etc. This culture seems to feed the ranks of many who join the police forces across America, and is quite noticeable among those who are Trump's greatest fans. It is a culture that also extols the stronger against the weaker, almost finding some divine virtue in strength (in part, influenced by notions of Social Darwanism). Even religion in this culture is not about the ethical or universalist messages which others might emphasize, but simply as part of the ritual to identify members of the tribe - the 'us' against the 'them'. Of course, this cultural phenomenon, fueled by centuries of ideological indoctrination to justify racial slavery, racial segregation, resistance to racial equality, is most virulent and depraved often when its targets are people like George Floyd. But in reality it is almost equally virulent and depraved regardless of the target de jure.
