Should we rename the thread to BLM protests or something along those lines? If we were to add the names for every black person killed the thread title would be impossibly long...

Just saw this ...Not sure, if it is true. If they really resign, ******** all of them. They are part of the problem.

    Police unit resigns in protest

A special squad on the Buffalo Police department – the Emergency Response Team – has resigned from their posts, according the Buffalo Police Benevolent Association.

The announcement comes one day after two members were suspended without pay when a video surfaced, showing them pushing over a 75-year-old protestor, causing injury.

“Fifty-seven resigned in disgust because of the treatment of two of their members, who were simply executing orders,” said John Evans, PBA president.

The special response unit was formed in 2016 and is deployed to manage mass protests or riots.

It was "executing orders" to shove a harmless old man down to the concrete? I can no longer do this dance with these cops.

They're like extra double cowards because they didn't resign as cops, they just resigned from the special response unit. If they had principles they would have resigned from being cops. They probably got a bump in pay from being on the special response unit, which they're giving up, but they will still show up and beat people as ordered and still get paid overtime.

Generally speaking, yes. They are following orders. However, some human beings lack common sense.

Always such WATBs. I shove a guy in the street and he fractures his skull I'm arrested, tried and probably doing some jail time.

The police aren't used to being held accountable for what they do on the job. This will take some cultural adjustment on their part.

"When the students poured into Tiananmen Square, the Chinese government almost blew it. Then they were vicious, they were horrible, but they put it down with strength," Trump replied. "That shows you the power of strength. Our country is right now perceived as weak...as being spit on by the rest of the world."

just in case you werent sure how Trump viewed the Tiananmen square massacre.... from a 1990 Playboy interview. who knows what this asswipe is capable of

There are not that many of them, 2% of the population vs what 13-16% of the population.

There was the video that someone posted where a California national guard officer was telling his troops 'shove them hard but don't kill them'.

These cops in Buffalo were probably told something similar, so the cop shoved and the old man got injured.

It is bigger than the cop or cops on film, what were their orders? what amount of force were they supposed to use?

They were probably told to clear the area, so they did.

Perhaps their superiors should also be charged.

The unit was there for riot control, so perhaps is better if the unit is axed.

Not sure if that has been posted before, apologies if it has been and mods, please kindly remove it if so. It is powerful and I am pleased that the NFL players are finding their voices.

Nice. Good to see some players basically give a big FU to the NFL. I am a huge football fan. But I immediately cancelled my redzone subscription and have refused to sit down and watch an entire game since they ran Kaep out of the league.

It would be nice if some of the white NFL players joined with those guys. It isn't just a "Black" issue any more than being opposed to Nazis is a "Jewish" thing.

To be fair quite a few have been heard, no bigger than Aaron Rodgers. His statement was remarkable (and a rebuke to Brees along the way).

Here we go again.....Part of the subculture of Police departments across the country is the constant need to lie, cover up and obfuscate. Case in point, it was clear as day that tear gas were used on Monday at Lafayette Park, but they denied it until they had to acknowledge it was true.

A U.S. Park Police spokesperson told Vox it was a “mistake” to insist that it didn’t use tear gas the day before in Lafayette Square to disperse a crowd ahead of President Trump’s photo op, explicitly noting that pepper balls shot by officials irritate the eyes and cause tears.

On a related note, to my DMV peeps, what the ******** is wrong with the Park police? They seem to be the most trumpian police agency in the metropolitan area.

Inferiority complex since they rank only slightly above mall cop? Makes me think of how university police are so often total dicks.
