This is the first of a two-part column looking at Jim Smith's tenure as Crew President/General Manager. The first column focuses on Smith's role as President, while part two focuses on Smith's role as General Manager. Enjoy.
I gotta be missing something. Either the V-Army bit is all sarcasm or it is one of the worst bits I have ever seen. I will leave it as that as I am sure that I have to be missing something. HPI bit was good. Though it will be interesting to see an overall grade. I don't think you can grade Smith as President and then GM and leave it at that. Might be the wine though....
The second of the two-part column looking at Jim Smith's tenure as Crew President/General Manager is up. This column focuses on Smith's role as General Manager. Enjoy.
By the way, fid and I had a slight miscommunication in that the part posted last night isn't the final part two as I tweaked a couple things and re-ordered a couple others. I suspect the revised part two will be posted when fid stops doing less important things like work.
I've not read Flyer's articles yet as I don't want it to go to his head.... However, having authored the "Making the Grade" article for the V-Army site, I can tell you that we truly are losing a lot in Jim Smith. While it is true that V-Army has had a somewhat rocky relationship with the front office in the past, this offseason was a complete turnaround. Mr. Smith was most helpful and offered to do things that Demi-god Peter Wilt probably only dreams about. At some point I'll read the pulitzer prize nominated FF peice, but for now I'm too busy reading Northshore spoilers.
Major Tom has quietly informed me that the next new feature from HPI Lite will be "Flick Offs" by Eric Denton. You guys have been great. I'm here all week. Try the veal.
the final version is up now...sorry 'bout that. http://www.huntparkinsider.com/news/070804_flickons.html
