I have to admit we are doing a better job with flags this season. I was really impressed with us during the season opener because not only we had so many flags but everybody WAVED them enthusiastically as opposed to just holding them or not doing anything at all. But it seems like the number of flags dropped. Are we only taking some flags to RE? I think more the better. They really look good for example:

If we want to make our own flags for the RE, what is the policy? Do we have to bring it in a couple hours early, approved, etc?

I can't speak for the group bringing the stuff in hours before the game but as someone in the RE on the end, I do see a lot of flags some game and not so much the next. I know the 1 game it was placed on my row I was waving that thing like crazy. Could just be people who don't wave them? I dont see any reason why they would diminish (unless theft).

I have heard that people do take them (I guess they see them on their seats and assume they won a free flag) and I heard people complaining about the obstruction of view. My view is that if you are paying a low price for supporter's section seats you should expect your view will be obstructed. Also as long as people WAVE the flags it won't be as bad. But we definitely need more flags.

I agree, however we are still young. Right now I see tons of people in the RE who are just there for the aptmosphere. I had one guy yell at me due to the flag blocking his girls view. I nicely tried waving it to the side for them. When they continously kept making comments to eachother that were loud enough for me to hear IN THE RE, then I turned around and told them to buy corner seats next time. If you are in the RE you should expect to have obstructions at times (flags, tifo's etc..) and you should be expected to sing and raise the scarves. Sorry just my opinion.

I am thinking about making a flag or two for the RE. I know to use pvc piping and zip-ties but how would one go about making the flag itself? Is there a store, website that makes custom flags? I am think those bigger tri color, vertical striped flags? Any idea?

When I made mine, I bought a blank off of eBay, used a projector to trace the image onto the flag, and then got out the paint and paintbrush and went to town.
If you're just looking for stripes though, a custom bought one is probably the way to go, but it will be more expensive.

I was wondering what the criteria was far hanging a national flag for a player? Is it place of birth or citizenship? I'm only asking because the Ghana flag erks me a bit. If freddy was playing over seas and i saw them flying the Ghana flag for him i would be a bit upset since he is an america. Just curious what the criteria is. If everyone has the same rules then im totally fine with it but if its just to put another flag up then im not fine with it. Thanks

I think it's kind of both. Like for example we still have the Polish flag up for Witkowski but he was born in the States but has dual citizenship due to his parents.

but that makes sence since he is a dual citizen. Freddy is not. The only other example I see is Migz who was born in Brazil but seemed to have american citizenship but I can't tell if he was a dual citizen or not

I literally saw a gentleman in red sleeveless shirt walk off with a flag. Luckily someone went after him! STOP STEALING THE FLAGS!

The mystery continues. The polish flag was gone last night. If you are right then it should be put back up for Witkowski.
