You guys seriously discussing bringing in paraphernalia associated with confederacy? Man, i sure hope it's just one or two nut that wants to bring that garbage to the game. I would immediately walk out if something like that shows up at terminus legion section. If southern pride means that, i want no association with it. It seems like majority here understand why that would be divisive. Let's hope that's not just the majority, but an overwhelming majority.
I would like to see a checkerboard pattern one.. Maybe it could have the number of checks that are the same as the number of admittance.
If Legion becomes our team name then I found this flag via a quick google search. I'm not sure if its a copy of anything actually roman but I liked the look...
That would be kool, I like the Roman slant. Would prefer one with a Phoenix though instead of an Eagle and maybe Resurgen in the banner instead of SPQR.
That's a good idea. It looks like a Roman legion banner. It could be used in front of TL when we march to the game.
I forgot to mention, the above checked banner/flags have 21 shapes for the other teams..The logo for ATL as they are the 22nd team.
You might also want to encourage fans from outside Georgia to bring their state flags. In addition to whatever flags/banners you guys come up with sprinkled with TN, AL, MS, maybe the Carolinas, etc state flags would be impressive.
Flag/Banner concept, that I came up with. It incorporates a Heraldic Southern Magnolia, to represent the whole south, in the colors of ATLUTD. It doesn't take on symbols, etc of the Confederacy, which can be a sore spot for marketing or what have you. The magnolia is a common symbol for the south. Lets go Mag's. lol.
It would get tiresome for me to carry a Tennessee/Memphis Flag(from), an Alabama flag(live there), and maybe another one.
One that doesn't go around online calling other fans lame. I just prefer one flag, if, its a flag I will be carrying alone. To represent where I come from, if I had to. I suppose I could carry only one that represents the team. My choice. It shouldn't bother you, one way or another. If it does, then thats your problem, not mine.
You do realize that was a joke, right? Like I really thought you ought to walk around with three flags.
