Which again proves my point that Downtown SJ is not a viable place to put a stadium. Same goes for the A’s if they were to hypothetically build a baseball stadium there. Aside from the fact that it won’t ever happen, there is simply nowhere to build it.
Kaval may to go back to Minor League Baseball in the wake of their overhaul or maybe the USL... Investors Eye MLS Next Pro in Wake of Minor League Baseball …

The logo backdrop in the tough shed is sufficiently bush league that it reminds me of an anecdote from my trip to Guatemala during the Quakes' champions league play in 2013. Quakes social media guy at the time, Frank Stranzl, had played for UCSB during college, and the UCSB coach was at the time coaching the Antigua professional club. So, a handful of us, including Frank were on a mission to meet up with him. We visited the stadium (glorified Buck Shaw) on Anigua's outskirts, but turns out the office was in an old colonial era (1700s) building in the central city. When we finally got there after our several hour adventure, partly on three-whelel mini-taxis, it was basically an empty shell around an inner court yard. The president's office had a bare desk and nothing else. The coach wasn't there, but when the staff learned that Frank was visiting from the States (important Americano!), they quickly grabbed the Antigua logo backdrop from a closet and hung it against the colonial stone wall in the courtyard. One of the Quakes fans who spoke Spanish translated during the impromptu interview of Frank for the Antigua team website. Very surreal day followed by the Quakes game in a Guatemala City slum later that evening.
A's banning signs, flags, banners, fjf shirts, and drums in Sac LMFAO!!!! pic.twitter.com/8uSIoYNRjm— The guy that's tired of this shit. (@oaklandamerican) March 31, 2025
Banners, signs, and flags? You can't bring signs, but you also can't bring "signs displaying explicit language".
They forgot to put no chanting on the list “Sell the team” chants have broken out here at the A’s home opener in Sacramento. pic.twitter.com/tWPxaTp0qO— Danny Vietti (@DannyVietti) April 1, 2025 They may also need to ban fans from leaving early A’s are down 14-3 in the 6th inning and some of the sellout crowd has seen enough pic.twitter.com/txajFqm9dN— Ben Ross (@BenRossTweets) April 1, 2025
SFGate: The A's opener in Sacramento was an absolute disaster The A’s opened their three-year (or perhaps longer) stay in Sacramento on Monday night, and it was an unmitigated disaster — to the point that getting absolutely decimated 18-3 by the Cubs barely registered on the Disaster Scale.
Update: The A's have been denied trademarks for "Las Vegas Athletics" and "Vegas Athletics" by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. pic.twitter.com/IGYaDQ1Q9C— Front Office Sports (@FOS) January 6, 2026 https://frontofficesports.com/why-the-as-hit-a-legal-snag-trademarking-their-las-vegas-name/ At least our trademarks are still valid— Montreal Expos (@Montreal_Expos) January 6, 2026 They filed a month before the A's in 2024 but they do not have a registered trademark. It was abandoned last year. They may have prior first use tho for those t-shirts if the mark is used correctly. Touché to them lol pic.twitter.com/WbJAotzIzg— Sneaker Legal® | Trademark & IP Lawyers (@SneakerLegal) January 7, 2026 They were also denied by multiple lenders for financing their stadium as it still doesn’t have a maximum price guarantee. And even if it did, the bet would be so big that the debt service coverage ratio math was not working.“Investors” and MLB will likely rescue Fisher, though. https://t.co/bpUtbEXvki— Vitamin Dee (@2Legit2QuitDee) January 6, 2026 Someone should create a semi-pro baseball team called the Las Vegas Athletics that *actually* plays baseball in the city of Las Vegas, and trademark the name before Fisher can move the A's there (which may be never at this rate)...
