http://web.mlsnet.com/news/mls_news.jsp?ymd=20080123&content_id=136305&vkey=news_mls&fext=.jsp This is an article from MLSNet.com by Jeff Bradley on some of the veterans on the move. It mentioned a few Quakes like The Joe, Jason Hernandez, Ivan Guerrero and James Riley. All seem very positive.
It's exciting to read this stuff. On the other hand, I hate the high expectations game. If, for whatever reason, the wheels come off or people don't perform as advertised, it hurts a club that is re-establishing it's base. We should keep our fingers crossed that things go somewhat in the right direction.
Exactly. I saw a lineup listed on another thread, and on the whole it looked promising, especially since you have to figure that we'll upgrade at least a couple of spots through signings and whatnot, and I thought about doing a version where it lays out the depth at each spot...and I got scared and stopped.
This is another Goal.com article related to the Albright trade mentioned in the MLSNet.com. http://www.goal.com/en-US/articolo.aspx?contenutoid=558034 In the middle of it, you see how "classy" LA does things. I am glad that SJ doesn't have that red hair clown anymore to steer the team to every wrong direction. We trust Frank and John has been doing a good job and they will continue.
Spoken like a true, long-time fan of the Clash/Quakes. They who live in mortal fear that the year 2000 could again raise its ugly head and hit us right in the goolies.
Yep, that's a really great bunch of human beings down there. Albright: “That’s what I’m most disappointed about. They could have dealt my rights [before they re-signed me]. They negotiated an offer with me to help them on their cap. It’s a bit of a slap in the face. I felt that I’d done enough to deserve that consideration.” gAlexi and crew always do things very well.
