On Saturday, I will be making my first trip to Soldier Field. I'm nearby on a business trip and want to catch a game.

Please advise on parking, tickets, etc. Is there any place nearby to grab a beer and catch the DC/Metros game on TV prior to the game?

    So close, yet so far
Watch out for parking, we always get stuck in the $15 parking garage. And if you get there pretty early, like 45-30 min. before the start of the game, you should be able to get a pretty wide variety of seats. Don't know of any nearby bars or anything.

You can go to Ginger's Ale House. They'll be showing all the MLS matches on saturday. On top of that, there will be a bus to take you to Soldier Field at six for the game. What more can you ask for? :)

Thanks Greddy, it helps all of us newbies going to Soldier Field.

  5. Out of towners note, the neighborhood street parking at Gingers will be filled up by Cubs fans so plan accordingly. Otherwise it's a great option.

    Hmm... I forgot about that.:)

As you can see in the little map, you're pretty close to Wrigley Field. I guess they can take a cab to Ginger's or something.

Use the Red Line to Harrison. Half a block south is the South Loop Club. From there we walk. Its about a half hour walk for slowpokes.
