So...does this mean that we really are watching grass grow? Will you tell us when the first coats of paint go on? :)

    Not until it starts drying.

But then, that will get lost in the threads b!tching that the field isn't very playable because they only laid the sod a month and a half before the first match and blaming Disney somehow.

Silly me, I thought the thread was about Ruiz taking a date there.

Well, it's nice to know that there's finally been some anal sex at the Depot.

[Note: "Sod" is a derogatory term more or less meaning "jerk," that is an abreviation of "sodomite." If still confused, see title of thread.]

I thought there were not going to be seats on Lalas Hill. The pic clearly shows some kind of seating being built. The original drawings only had grass on the hill. I do remember thier being speculation that seats would be added thier sooner rather than later because of ticket demand. Any info?

this is absolutely nit picking but i wish they had made the seats just a little bit closer to the feild, you can tell from the sod pictures that there's going to be a concrete wall about 5-6 feet high. it'd just look that little bit much more awesome if it was closer to 3-4 feet. btw ill say it again how excited i am for this stadium.

I saw it on local news about grass. Is that real grass or turf?

    Real grass.

From the pictures it almost looks like they are laying down sod on top of concrete. I'm sure it's just evenly packed very level dirt, though.

The captions mention it's a layer of sand that's been leveled and packed.

i'm with you, and while we're at it, i don't care for the hue of green they picked. i don't know what seed blend they used, but whoever recommended needs to get fired.

(on a side note....in some stadiums in england, ...chelsea for sure...the first row of seats is a little below the field level....and yes, pretty damn close to the field....)

the stadium is incrediable. it's just so cool whether its a european style soccer stadium, or a big ten basketball court where the fans are right at feild level. just wouldve been all that much cooler if they dropped them down another few feet. I'm a Sox fan, we're all about aesthetics(sp) in our stadiums. But again, looks absolutely great, architecutally, the roof, everything.

Sorry, but the stupid baseball fans ruined that for everybody. Gotta have a buffer between the fans and the field so that no fans run out and attack anybody, and they're not building fences, so the next best thing is a drop of six feet or so to slow them down so that security can catch them before they do any damage.

    Simpler solution: snipers.

Solution to post-championship "celebrations" at colleges: shoot them all. Expel the ones who live.

That's what the roof is for, isn't it?
Just a few more brilliant ideas and you'll nail down that BigSoccer Humanitarian of the Year Award!
