Go Figure! The Quakes get their first shut-out of the season with a rookie in between the sticks!

Let's all wish Jon a speedy recovery, but maybe Saunders turns into a real upside surprise. All that I know about him is that he went to Cal, is 6-4 and is a Canadian. Yallop really favours those Canucks.

Anyone has any good input on Josh? The Quakes have had a pretty good amount of bad luck recently it would be nice to see this guy really work out.

I haven't seen Josh play. But he kind of has to work out.

 I meant as in fit in not physically work out but rather team wise...I knew someone would take me out of context though.

This has nothing to do with the shut out. But haven't you guys noticed that our most recent keeper's names all started with Jo?

    JOe cannon
    JOhn conway
    JOhnny walker
    JOsh saunders.

    It's pretty weird...

I think that, technically, in order for it to be the "first shut out of the year" it has to not be the second shutout of the year (Quakes 4 - Shanghai Shenhua 0, February 9th at Negoesco Sta.) ;)

Actually, that Canadian thing is a bit of a mystery, call has him listed as born in Oregon, and most stuff points him to going to HS in Orange County.

Very good point. I thought about it but just let it slide.

OK OK it was the second shut-out of the pre-season. I probably should have added against a MLS team! I will be much more dilligent next post.

And to think, I was there at Nogesco Field, shoot!

BTW, lets hope that they get a shut out today, if they don't.... well lets just not think that a college team could score against our mighty mighty Quakes!
