I'm from the US and I have just recently started to like soccer. I don't know why but I have taken an interest in Manchester United. I just saw my first ManU game today on Fox Sports and it was amazing! (Although it was just a tie with Chelsea) Well, I just wanted to say hello.

Awesome. Welcome to the fold, and don't let anyone tell you that Americans can't bleed Red. If you ever have any questions, feel free to ask. :)

I tried to like Real Madrid because everyone I know that likes soccer supports Real but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.

Watching Ronaldo dribble all over Chelsea really helped me feel good about my decision.

Well, welcome to the fold. And don't let Coach influence you - you might want to read back on several of his recent posts just to show you how much he actually is a closet United fan...

First time I saw Man United come to Highbury was the big brawl in '91.

Remember to avoid the lure of Arsenal, aka Red Card FC. You will be tempted by their hopeful talk of dynasties and trebles, but there can only be one team that has achieved both. Accept no substitutes for Manchester United. ;)

Why don't you support a first or second division team instead? They will appreciate your custom.

Welcome indeed you have chosen an exciting team to support. You are right about Ronaldo and next season he likely will be playing even more.

That's cold, man! Just be sure you give him the "backstory" on my "Week of Heinous Lies"...*L*

And why shouldn't he support Arsenal? He could look at our shiny new trophy! ;)

i dunno wot its like to "choose" a team coz i was bought up arsenal from birth but havnt ya just thought to sit down and watch hundreds of matches with different teams before ya decide who ya wanna support?

but hey there is the infamous man utd slogan "the more people to eat our prawn sandwiches, the better"

only kidding, support whoever you want but dont jump in at the deep end.

nb... when i got into rugby i started to support my local team who are absoloute ******** so this plan isnt completely fool proof

    Welcome to the religion :)

Supporting Man U is a rollercoaster, we are either fantastic or garbage but never boring - there is always something going on at the club and we never seem to do things the easy way.

Choosing a club is not a scientific exercise, its done with the heart and you just 'know'.

Agreed. You just 'know'. I have a friend who funnily enough lived only down the road from me in London that also now lives in Australia, and his father like mine is a devouted Arsenal fan, except he supports Chelsea - has all his life.

I highly recommend investing in a replica shirt before they change it again on Friday ;)

Good choice. History, great fans and always entertaining. Should make some big transfers this summer, and next season, we should be good :)

What is all this talk of being the true Reds anyway, both teams are a bunch of wannabes. ;)
