Get it while it's hot: http://www.filehippo.com/download_firefox/ It's noticeably faster than the older versions.
There's nothing on Firefox's site http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ I'll wait until it shows up there before I upgrade.
It's been pushed out to the mirrors. The download site is one of them. In fact I'm writing this post using Firefox 2.0.
They do have a link to RC3 http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/2.0/releasenotes/ I'm sure it'll be official later this week. I don't mind waiting.
question is, will foos BS toolbar extension work with it? ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/2.0/ Mirrors: http://mozilla.osuosl.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/2.0/win32/en-US/Firefox Setup 2.0.exe http://mozilla.osuosl.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/2.0/win32 http://mozilla.osuosl.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/2.0/mac/en-US/Firefox 2.0.dmg (MAC) http://ftp-mozilla.netscape.com/pub...eleases/2.0/win32/en-US/Firefox Setup 2.0.exe http://ftp-mozilla.netscape.com/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/2.0/win32/

There's an extension called Nightly Tester Tools that will force extensions to work with newer versions of Fx. You can also do other things with it, like take a screenshot, insert build ID (or even list of extensions) automatically into any textbox, open the profile folder and more.
http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/preed/2006/10/the_antirelease.html Fx 2.0 not yet released. Downloading from FTP makes for grumpy IT guys.
I just downloaded FF 2 a few minutes ago and it is very nice. I am typing this message with it I was already used to FF 1.5 and IE 6 and the upgrade to ff is a lot better than the crap that microsoft came up with IE 7. Microsft BURN IN HELL!!!
Here's more: If you click the down arrow next to the back/forwards arrows, you can see a list of recently visited websites. Middle-click any one of those websites, and you can open in a new tab.
Lifehacker has a list of configs - they're fairly easy to mess around: http://www.lifehacker.com/software/firefox-2/geek-to-live--top-firefox-2-config-tweaks-209941.php
And while Hama and his boys cream themselves over the new version of IE that they expect to last for several years, Mozilla pushes ahead with plans for Firefox 3.0 (Q1 2007) and 4.0. http://www.internetnews.com/dev-news/article.php/3639946
One thing that really bugs me in FF 2.0. I like to write posts here, and press "Alt-S" for "submit reply." It's a fast keyboard shortcut that doesn't require a mouse click. However, "Alt-S" is now the browser keyboard shortcut for the "History" list. That's annoying.
Let's see. Pressing Alt-S now. Edit - Yep, that did it. Sort of. It doesn't work for the "Save" when I'm editing a post. Checking to see if it does when I "go advanced." Edit - That works. So if you're in "standard" edit for changing a post, "Save" doesn't work with "Alt-S" until you click the "Go Advanced" button. I wonder why Mozilla changed the default behavior of Alt-S.
firefox is still doing horrible job from time to time when displaying non-english language and doesn't still display it properly even if it encodes with proper character sets. needless to say it still lacks the feature equivalent to group policy when it comes to managing corporate network. mozilla is always far behind microsoft. it's obvious microsoft is globally aclaimed company while mozilla is just netscape's last breath after completely bitchslaped by microsoft before year 2000. all they do is bashing microsoft while given a help from them and brainwash people to install it..
