You said "EVERYTHING" in your post. We didn't win everything in 2009. Only the SS. No MLS Cup. Whereas in 2008, we won both.
As I recall, Guille earned a DP-esque salary in '08, but his salary cap hit was bought down to below DP levels because the team had a bunch of allocation money (or some similar kind of MLS legal currency) on hand.
Don't you miss the days when we could blame it on so many injuries, a player's death or not being responsible? //cynical
I agree wholeheartedly with this statement, but my fear/experience has been that outside of Sigi, we have been frugal with players and coach selection. Granted since DPs were introduced, props to HSG for loosening the purse enough to bring in Guille and Higuain, but one great player on a squad is not enough, especially with a poor leader at the helm.
Congratulations. You may be the first poster I have ever put on ignore on BS. But good lord your posts are some of the most idiotic nonsense that I have ever read on here. I surely did not waste my last three years in law school just so I can lose brain cells every time I read your posts. Mods, you really need to start enforcing some type of IQ requirement to post around here. I really think that would: a) bring back some of the good posters and b) make your mod life easier because you would not have posters turned away from the boards by this brainless drivel.
Funny thing is, he is actually a pretty cool dude who has a lot to do with Crew Union... not that his posts on here are the views of the whole group I am sure lol.
I always hate when people do this but it's something I noticed this morning. If we were a Western Conference team we would be tied for 7th/8th and a point from 9th.
Yeah with unbalanced schedules it's hard to decide how to compare the league as a whole; once we get above eight to ten I tend to look at points per game more than just points. FC Dallas 2.18 Montreal Impact 2 Houston Dynamo 1.82 Sporting Kansas City 1.67 Portland Timbers 1.64 New York Red Bulls 1.62 LA Galaxy 1.56 Philadelphia Union 1.5 Real Salt Lake 1.42 Colorado Rapids 1.36 Seattle Sounders 1.33 Columbus Crew 1.2 Vancouver Whitecaps 1.2 San Jose Earthquakes 1.17 Chivas USA 1.1 New England Revolution 1 Chicago Fire .78 Toronto FC .7 D.C. United .4
I had to be told at work that my comment offended someone. (I had her on ignore and my bigsoccer experience has greatly improved since that date) Hmm. Nothing to see here. Carry on with our RW angst.
Question for the room (rather, the ever-diminishing minority in the room): What, exactly, has King Responsible done to deserve continuing to be in charge of this club?
Why doesnt this thread show up on page 1 on the Columbus Crew Forum? Does anyone else have that issue?
I don't know that anyone here does still think he deserves to continue being the coach. Bill A made mention of it on another thread, but it's showing up on mine.
