@kolabear Banda’s living proof (figuratively speaking) ‘One Man Army’, cuz without her in the last four games, current champs Orlando been taken an steep nose dive, cultivating with their 5-2 loss yesterday.to last place Chicago

Chawinga looking now more like the ‘catch of the century’ —-so whoever recruited/signed her, should be the one to receive a ton of credit for KC’s success. Dunno—it could of been Vlatko himself doing the scouting, but it came backup by mucho dinero since Chawinga already had amazed a number of creds like 33 goals in one season in the Swedish league, so pretty sure she was an massively recruited already, even for the most elite clubs

just sayin cuz doubt KC success is due to any Vlatko coaching master virtuoso, lol. Heck, I’ve seen enough of Chawinga race after the ball & get it even though the pass was intended for a team mate!

I think that the NWSL reckoning from the Yates report in 2021 was the leading impact that allowed the success of Moultrie's law suit* to bear out, and also allowed more money to come into the league (going to be interesting to see what happens in Denver as we have a female billionaire as the lead owner/investor).

    * - I've said previously that these youth players came into the league after the reckoning so they didn't have the burdened placed upon them that earlier players had. And it had also been noted somewhere that Portland took several years to settle, which happened to be in Moultrie's early years.

At home against Washington Spirit, KC was without Chawinga this weekend and only accumulated about 0.75 xG up until Hal Hershfelt picked up a red card (for a 2nd YC) and Washington had to play the rest of the game 10 v 11.

Good argument for the Chawinga Chawinga Chawinga Thesis

    Final xG:
    KC Current 1.33
    Washington Spirt 0.72

the proofs in the pudding lol; despite home town field & one up advantage player 68 min mark, KC only had an 11-8 shots advantage & lost the possession battle 59-41%.

got to give Vlatko & KC credit; their the first team in the NWSL history to hit the 50 points mark by the 20th regular season game. But this match sort of showed Vlatko’s very basic & conservative in his coaching approach, especially when taking on stronger opponents with his main star missing
