Will do....Brady is usually better than most at that kinda play...something didn't trigger for him.

    Koutsias?

You're talking about what I’ll call the “Blanco Effect”. We needed that back in 2022. Nowak and Stoichkov had it in spades, too. I believe it’s contagious and if we had had one of those players, Shaqiri and Guti would have doubled their respective productions.

On a side note, there’s an incredible story about Stoichkov while on Barcelona who were down at halftime, 2-0. As if knowing he didn’t have his mojo that particular day, Hristo turned to a young Ronaldo and said “You’re going to have to win this one for us.” Ronaldo scored a hat trick in the second half to get Barcelona a 3-2 win.

The proverbial passing of the torch.

Correct. But by September of 2022 we knew he couldn’t do it alone, and he was alone at it. No one else stepped up so we needed to supplement him. It’s what I said back then and we never did.

    We STILL lack that player.

Brady needs to stop that goal.

Pete (understands it was a tough play but he has time to get there if he doesn't jump and just tracks it to the post)

Watching halftime highlights. That ball was right past the 6 yard line from Brady, no idea why he didn't just grab that floater.

Initially I thought it was deeper and fully on Souquet to get a head on it or keep his man off it...and it was an over the shoulder Willy Mays kinds play for Brady...but I agree Brady should have come after that one.

I brought up Blanco, Nowak, Hristo, Shaqiri and Gutierrez. Why not shit on Guti who is still here and never shows any leadership qualities on the field? That’s at least relevant to the current team.

As predicted...one striker out(Barlow), MHS moves up, Arigoni in as wingback.

That plus Guti replacing Acosta should spice things up...

    Good subs.

54:05...finally some attacking movement...not great, but that kind of movement wasn't there when Acosta was at the L8.

Min. 54 and Guti passes it straight out of bounds. A great example of the right idea with poor execution. Not something to criticize unless it becomes a habit. I encourage the thinking on the play.

Is it me, or does Guti look like he's playing injured?
His stride is short and tight...
    And yet...still better than Acosta.

Just made it home after class, picking up my better half at work, and then selecting our new roofing shingles.

60th minute and the Fire are losing.
Guess I didn't miss anything new!

    The Reyonlds sub is good...
Hopeful, but holding my breath on Mueller...

Looking like Arigoni dropped to RCB, MHS back out wide, and Guti pushed up top?

70:30 and Guti’s third bad pass. I think he may be rusty.
