Doesn’t seem to matter where we play, who our coach is, what color our kits are- we just love to fall down on our face after 80 minutes.

    Oops.
Well, at least the Fire scored more than one goal.
    Kacper scored.
    Czichos "padded his stats"
    The Fire didn't lose

No excuse for the way we played for the last 25 minutes or so. I don't know if it's poor leadership or what, but we just never looked like we were going to close this game out. It's like the team is always surprised when a trailing opponent pushes forward late to try to get back in the game. Or they just have no plan to counter it.

I remember it all the way back to the first ever game at then Toyota Park- Fire up 3-1 in the 89th and then .... It's a time-honored tradition at this point.

Ezra has no control of the game or the players. Poor discipline and can’t control the game. No lead is safe

We blew it by not going after lagerway this winter. We don’t have a roster built for the intricacies of mls and we don’t have a manager that can well, manage, said roster

Just got back from the game.

Przybylko was awesome, his best performance ever in a Fire shirt.

Our Swiss winger should start every week

Mueller actually delivered today, goal and PK

Start Dean over Arnaud, the Frenchman is a disaster. We've lost 4 points because of him and that is on HEITZ. Awful replacement for Sekulic.

    agree with all this

also that we look freer with Guti in the middle and not forcing everything to Shaq

Just got home from the game and, well, with five players out it’s though to complain too much.

We need a closer. F. Navarro or Czichos needs to be a level headed leader that can control the tempo of the last ~20 minutes of a game when we’re up by two goals. If those two can’t do it we need our third DP to fill that role.

    Oof.

Przybylko showed a look at what we have been expecting from him...and nearly let that 'fire in the belly' get him ejected.
Guti's sense and touch are fun to watch and still "raw"...he's gotta add putting shots on frame to his game.
MHS plays like a winger, refreshing for someone to do that.
Mueller is beginning to lose me...diving, crying/whining, slapping his arms against his side, hrumpfing...his best game for us in recent memory.
Pineda was quiet...not great not bad.
Gimenez was low impact...his energy and passing was not good, thinking he played a full 90 when he needed a recovery game.
Navarro and Souquet continue to make errors...and have low impact on offense.
Teran continues to look like a play Heitz will sell, but he still hasn't learned how to adjust his play to how the ref is calling the game.
    Czichos is our glue.
Brady played really well. Really like his active mobility. Do not fault him for any of the 3 GA.

Dean = miniHerbers. Great workrate, flexible position play, aggressive, decent touch.

No read on Monis & Burks.

Need to rewatch to see what tactical changes CIN made when bringing in Acosta and Ordonez at the 80...they shifted and we didn't. Felt like Gimenez and Pineda were burnt, the team lost focus and Souquet assisted another assist of the assist...before Ezra could (should have?) made a response change :(

At one point in the 2nd half, the broadcast crew mentioned that Ezra was yelling at Teran to get absolutely the hell away from a situation in the box after an FCC player milked a dive into a delay of a corner kick. I was watching Czichos at that point barking around at the refs and maybe one or two of the Feds' players, and thinking for a second or so that maybe he needed to be pulling Teran out of that situation instead. With Teran already on a card, Hendrickson can't run on to the field to get him away from a potentially disastrous situation, and he needs his captain to handle that role. Really felt like an FCC player was gonna take a dive and get Teran a second yellow for a bit there.

Overall I basically agree with your assessment but I think Gimenez was better than you say and Pineda might have been our second best player, second to Przybylko. Splitting hairs a bit with Gimenez perhaps but Pineda probably needs to start whenever he’s available.

Mueller and Guti were our best players, easily. Kacpar had a cracker of a goal and wasn't as bad as usual, but there were still instances where he deferred to others instead of going for goal aggessively that we need him to get better at. As early as the first five minutes, Kacpar was trying to dummy a ball through in (or very close to) the 18 which is where he should be taking charge. Giminez was definitely up there among our top players tonight, but his service and switching could've been better. The thing about Gaston is, if he does send a ball short or otherwise give up possesion, he'll usually work twice as hard to recover and get the ball back for us.

I feel like it's important to point out- although I was not as down on him as others were after the first couple of games, Souquet was pretty bad tonight and needs to get it together.

All-in-all, I'd like to think we win tonight with Shaq and Kamara playing, but tough to say considering how well Guti played in the 10 and the question of what formation we play if everyone is healthy and not out due to a red.

I'm one of a handful that like Gimenez...this was an off night for him in my eyes.
Also a Mauri fan...he just lost connection with our shape a few times, but that may have been more of a team thing.

Both looked burned out and playing 3/4 after 60 or so...

In general I like the combination of their physicality, but it depends on the opponents. Acosta came on and it was clear we needed a Fede to play hornet on/with him...in a way neither Gimenez or Pineda do.
