Well, here we are with another game. It should be looked at as a chance to succeed, but after the last match it's tough to be very optimistic. Anyway, time to prognositicate:
We suck. I’ll be there again tonight. I suck. DC will score in the second minute, and many people will think it’s over, DC wins, it’s coming home. The Fire will gradually gain control of the run of play, dominating possession with short, effective passes that slowly but surely see them advancing on DC and getting closer and closer to evening it up. In the second half, off of a corner, a grizzled defender, Jonny Bornstein, will even us up with a cleanup goal from the fray. The Fire will continue dominating through the second half and both period of extra time, with DC only getting a few quality chances that they can’t capitalize on, and when it goes to PKs, DC will boof it’s last 3 despite subbing in some of their better PK takers late in the second period of extra time. Fire win the PKs 3-2 and take the crown.
Just turned on the game. Still no Luka Stojanovic in the starting line up According the line up on the Fire website, Navarro is playing as an attacking midfielder in front of Gimenez and Medran That's not correct, is it?
Not seeing many fans in the shots of the stands tonight. They did just have an ad for Iltaco Pizza Puffs, so that could explain the lack of fans in the stands. Eat one of those and head straight to the bathroom. Save time and just throw the thing in the toilet.
Did the Chicago Park District coat the final third of the south end with Miracle Whip before the match?
What a beauty by Gastón Giménez off the melon! To be honest I was kind of cringing at the the lofted service in. Didn’t look like it’d amount to much. But what do I know? 1-nil for the Men in Red…socks.
