And, to be perfectly honest, I'd rather only get ONE goal scorer if it meant we were also able to find a halfway decent goalkeeper at the same time.
Agree. Now explain why I'm out of my mind to think it's difficult to get MULTIPLE great goal scorers.
Because all it takes is a finical commitment and you pay big money for 2 guys and buy down a current DP or get rid of a other one it ain’t rocket science
Oh, sure. Just walk into the dressing room and say “Hey: show of hands. Who in here wants to take a pay cut?” I can’t believe you haven’t landed a GM job yet.
I’m just gonna go ahead and say it: Nagbe isn’t worth a DP spot. Good player, but he’s a waste as a DP. If he scored more goals or had more assists then my opinion would be different.
Honest question, what is considered a “great” goal scorer? Does the goal output depend on position? Like a striker should score 20+ and a winger should be like 10? Or are we talking about two guys banging in 25 goals per year? Seems like the term “great” can be very suggestive.
Fair point. A win at home against the bottom team in the East. Against an interim coach, managing his 9th career MLS match. All problems solved. No further analysis needed. Hope everyone enjoyed the food and drinks. Be sure to tip your bartenders!
Geez, you must be fun at parties. Glad you spent time with your wife last night and didn't have to endure the pure hell of a Crew win. We are 5th in the table. We will see if last night was a blip in the Hang and Kyle Hate Everything saga or maybe something else.
Thanks! We had wine and dinner with the Buddhist Priestess across the street and her husband, made plans to meet up again, and also to be active in the community and elsewhere leading up to the midterm elections coming up. Not quite the ragers of years past, but good to spend time with them, and make plans to network our other connections with another. Contrary to Hating Everything I actually left feeling quite hopeful, positive, and energized!
Well, Nagbe notoriously doesn’t score goals, but he has more than our starting striker, so that’s a thing…
Well, we may be ********ed. But I didn't get anything new in that regard from the interview. Their goal is to get a new striker signed in June so that he's available when the summer window opens on July 7. We'll see. I don't get the sense that Porter's job is in any danger, but then I never really thought it would be, despite my personal preferences. Bez at least didn't lean too heavily into the whole expected goals, thing. I mean, he did claim were a far better team than I think we are, based on those stats, but also said: "But it hasn't shown up on the scoresheet and at the end of the day, you have to convert your opportunities. That's something we have to work on." Doesn't sound as though they ever considered trading Zardes in the off season. Myers never asked about any other positions. Left Back? Midfield? Molino's status? Just striker. Bez used "Miggy" as Berry's nick-name. Good god.
