They should have season ticket holders rotate for one week at the helm. They already have my money, so at least give me a sideline seat.

Do you have enough FAM in your account for this in match experience?

Finally listened to Grant Wahl's interview with Caleb Porter. While I think Porter came across as a bit of a self-absorbed jerk, if you listen to the whole thing, you can tell why he rejected KP's offer to coach DCU back in the day. Short answer: bad infrastructure, bad ownership and the DMV was not a place he wanted to live with his family.

Must be season ticket renewal season already.

So Pineda is the lead candidate, and they talked to former RB Leipzig and Brondby coach Alex Zorniger

Zorniger was coach at Stuttgart in 2015 from May to November (not even half of the season). Stuttgart was not the best run club, but his coaching didn't help matters, either.

Still pulling for Pineda, but yeah not that impressed by someone recently coaching a Danish team.

    A take on Zorniger.

Edit: Sounds like a no-nonsense, work your ass off kinda guy. Style of play: crazy direct, high press until the other team cries uncle or scores 5. Not really the beautiful game, but BL experience ain't nuthin'. I'm sure he'd make us a better team. Unless he's chilled out a degree or 10 since Brondby, I'd say he's not a great fit for a club that's working on its development path. He seems to be a guy who could build something through force of will - direction is a real question, though. I suspect he is rumored to be in the mix primarily to make the ownership look serious. I would still put my money on Pineda, although my heart is with Borrell. This guy just gives me Olsen vibes for some reason, but not the good ones. Like if Olsen had spent his formative years in a Turkish prison.

Do any of these fellers have actual coaching experience already?
    Yes?
From one perspective, anyone with 60-seconds worth of actual experience is someone with 59.99999 seconds more than Ben had when we hired him.

Anyway, carry-on with the trashing of their respective coaching tenures . . .

With a parsimonious ownership, we’re not going to get the likes of Bruce Arena, Caleb Porter or Sasho Cirovski. Actually, way more than a coach, D.C. United really needs Garth Lagerwey - as if that’s going to happen.

I would take Garth in a heartbeat. Got to sit down and talk with him for 45 minutes, one of my best DC united memories. And it was not just me asking him questions, we talked tactics.

If DCU wanted to slip by an unpopular coaching announcement, they should have done so yesterday.

Looks like Pineda is out. That leaves EZ as the only real choice. Anyone else seems like a desperation pick (though we are kinda there aren't we).

Update: of course now I find out that EZ was out already. This FO is just trash, hot fiery, shit filled, trash.

It's going to be Armas, it was always going to be Armas. This 'search' is fraudulent and only in response to the negative fan reaction once the first Armas leaks happened. The FO can say "hey, we tried" and hire their guy.

Goff's article says that both Pineda and Armas are out. That leaves Noonan and Ashton in the running. Guess who gets the job? This FO is a giant dumpster fire, they will go cheap and keep Ashton because he's already under contract. Levien out, Kaplan out. Really, just fold the franchise -- I don't need to waste time and money on these shitheads. BTW, my new rep is Ben Herndon. Those guys cycle through DCU with a career life expectancy of fruitflies.
