I met this guy on Sunday who claims that he's on the reserve team for the Fire. I only caught his first name which is Alex and he said that he was #19 on the team?! Has anyone seen this kid play or even talk to him? I really want to know who he is....! PLEASE HELP!
He could play for the Fire Premier, which used to be called the Fire Reserves that play in the USL(?) league.
yea, i met a guy who claimed to play for the Fire, too. problem was that he wasn't any good....and didn't actually play for the Fire. i also have talked to a guy who claimed to play for DC United (also a lie). apparently there are some who think few enough people actually know about these teams that they can get away with lies like that.
In college, I had a roomate from Ontario and he had a bunch of Canadian national team shirts and hats and shorts from various sports. One year at spring break MANY moons ago, my buddies and I wore all the Canadian stuff and told all the chicks we met at Lauderdale that we were members of the Canadian Olympic bobsled team. I was, to say the least, a little fitter back then but I damn sure wasn't Olympic athlete fit. Still, I was amazed how many chicks bought it, hook line and sinker. Sure, it was spring break and you can tell a girl damn near anything and still get laid, but I was still amazed how many people wanted to believe they were talking to an athlete and who never questioned what we said. Of course, the same girls also told me that I was just their second or third time so I guess the lesson is we believe what we want to believe!
He did leave his number lol. Maybe he is on the U23 team. I really didn't talk to him that much. Oh well I might just have to call and ask again!

Actually he came up to me on Sunday because I was wearing a Crew t-shirt! Eh I really don't care about it anyway I was just wonderin if he really did play. Oh well I don't even have the piece of paper where he wrote the number down!
Without reading the rest of the thread... If he had an English accent, you probably met Alex Odwell. He played (may still play?) on the Reserves (now Chicago Fire Premier) and was going to school in Ohio, but I can't remember which school. If it's him, he's a great player and nice kid.

Alex played for the Reserves (as they were then called) in 2003 and 2004. He did not play for the Premier this year. In 2004 he did wear no. 19 (he wore no. 3 in 2003). And, as noted elsewhere, he attends the University of Akron.
i think this is hillarious, we just went all out full research mode on a nobody for someone who claimed they met a reserve squad player, job well done, following this thread has been fun, all we need now is a crewzer confirmation
