This is off-topic, but what games have unsold seats? I know many people who want to go, have entered multiple ticket draws, and haven't been able to purchase, even at the stupidly high prices. Are they talking about hospitality packages? It's difficult when the tweet doesn't cite a single source.
No idea. Everybody I know that's been trying to get tickets here in Boston has been struggling. Scotland versus Haiti seems impossible. Of course, this is what happens when people believe faceless twitter posts that don't quote any kind of source Just like people treating a Tactical Manager twitter post as if it's different than a Big Soccer post.
A combination of the xVibes and projecting that we're only going to face teams that would be in the ZonenDroppinFrommendieToppen (there probably is a long german word for it but you get the picture...)
You act like there is logic in his posts. He has had worse takes than Chris Sullivan and that’s saying something.
Ima ask you step back, bro.Nobody had worse takes then Chairs Sullivan.Nephews like TacMan wish they could be as out of pocket and cringe as our boy was!
I'm old but you guys remember Rocky III where Rocky was completely distracted by the glitz and glamour around him during his training (which really pissed off Mickey) and Rocky then summarily got his ass kicked by Drago? So, for the rematch he trained in Siberia away from all the press and celebrities and he kicked Drago's ass? That is the situation I think Poch is trying to avoid. The tournament, just like a boxing match, is incredibly short and if you're not completely focused on it your going to get crushed. You can come back from a slow start in a 9-month season. You can't come back from a slow start in a 4-game tournament.
You are mixing two Rocky movies together. It was Rocky III where Rocky got caught up in the glitz and the glamour -- but he was defeated by Clubber Lang (Mr. T) and needed to train with Apollo Creed to get back his Eye of the Tiger. In Rocky IV, Apollo fought Ivan Drago and Drago killed him in the ring ("if he dies, he dies") and that's when Rocky went to Siberia to train by lifting logs and running through the snow while the evil Soviet used high tech machines and steroids. It's also when Rocky ended the Cold War by winning over the Soviet crowd by the end of his fight. ("If I can change, and you can change, maybe we all can change.")
To be fair, the movies have more or less the same plot. (except for the winning the cold war thing.) Best friend/mentor dies. Survivor music plays. Rocky goes back to his primal roots to win the day.
Did we give up when the Nazis attacked Pear Harbor? Hell No! I think this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part. We're just the guys to do it...LET'S DO IT! Our players need to stay focused on what's really important, not the cost of the tickets.
Tim Weah is not spending a lot of time crusading about tickets. He made a comment that would have disappeared into the ether if Poch hadn't responded. It's clearly become a much bigger distraction now that Poch spoke up. Oh, well.
The lines above what you quoted are from Animal House. I don't think what Weah said is a big deal at all. It just allowed me to add some old but hilarious movie lines from one of the greatest movies ever.
Oh, I know Animal House. That movie speaks to me. Specifically the line, "Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, son." I was just saying that Poch clearly got hit by the Streisand Effect.
I do love that Mauricio Pochettino is locked in on keeping his players laser-focused on the World Cup. Which is what makes it so hilarious that he keeps doing interviews and talking about, you know, Spurs.— Pablo Iglesias Maurer (@MLSist) February 17, 2026
From what I've seen, its everyone else talking endlessly about Poch to Spurs. its all over the UK press. Maybe I've missed it, but I haven't seen RECENT public comments from Poch about it. My opinion is.......................you can't go home again.
Dear FIFA, Newsflash. Of course there are lots of tickets unsold for the WC. You expanded to an insane number of teams which means a fair number of lower quality teams are in the final tournament. Then you created an abomination of the process to get tickets. And to add insult to injury you made the ticket prices crazy high. So lets see. 1. Weaker overall tournament. 2. Large NFL stadiums with big capacities. 3. Impossible ticketing process. 4. Insanely high ticket prices. Is anybody surprised that there are lots of unsold tickets? The key they have left out so far is that all those unsold tickets are to such juicy matches as Ivory Coast vs Curacao. LOL

The USMNT head coach has emerged as one of several potential candidates to replace Thomas Frank in the dugout.
Richards, McKenzie, Robinson, Ream, Zimmerman, Trusty. Something like that. Some of it depends on how the guys in MLS start their seasons (I'm on record multiple times saying that I don't think Ream will ultimately make the WC squad, FYI). From a talent and potential perspective, Banks looks like he's likely to become a CB that the USMNT will rely on in the future, but at this moment he would be an emergency call for me. I value experience at CB entirely too much to want to see a 19-year-old with (currently) a calendar year and 1600 minutes of first team soccer under his belt playing in a knockout match in a World Cup. In front of a not-so-great keeper as well (but I don't know much about Matt Freese, really--maybe he's got great communication skills with his defenders).
What puts Walker Zimmerman ahead of Noahkai Banks in your expert opinion? Here's Banks in the Bundesliga vs Zimmerman in MLS right now, not "potential"
