some recognition for Blanco as the more effective DP on the pitch http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/soccer/08/31/bc.soc.fire.blanco.ap/index.html
http://www.suntimes.com/sports/534469,CST-SPT-hitch30.article Blanco: From yesterday's SunTimes. Gives a bit of perspective on how big this guy is.
After reading the article I now see the league either adding another SI slot to each team, or not counting them as SIs
Amazingly enough, only Guppy realized this. Thank God, he didn't listen to all the Fire fans who were ready to boycott the team. Speaking of which, have any of those fans(and I use that term loosely) really boycotted? I kinda doubt it, but just wondering. Makes you wonder about the competency of Guppy. I wonder if people don't give him credit because they are still bemoaning the loss of Wilt.
Who is not giving him credit? We can wonder if Guppy lucked into this one given his track record. Guppy has made some recent moves that look good so far, lets see how it pans out. No matter what Guppy does, good or bad, it will not take away the fact that Peter Wilt was a fantastic GM. Last years and this years stadium problems, the play of the team, the lack of ticket sales, all made us pine for the days of GM Wilt. Hopefully Guppy has righted the ship and things will be more like the last month, and less like the first year and a half.
