Oh, John Urban, I am so glad that I am not you.

“We are excited to partner with an industry leader like Mercedes-Benz,” said Chicago Fire COO John Urban. “Their focus on delivering exceptional customer experience aligns with how the Fire approaches each day. Together we can engage both our fans and their customers through activations throughout the year.”

Oh, man, I hate that sort of corporate speak bullshit.

The Fire do NOT have the level of "exceptional customer experience" as Mercedes Benz. If so, they probably would not have called me yesterday, asking if I "knew" about the exciting things happening with the Fire, "like the move back to Soldier Field." They rep then tried to sell me a pair of tickets to the home opener. It is the third time since the move that the Fire have contacted me about this. I explained that I am season ticket holder and one of the "original 68 (now 69), so I am pretty aware of the happenings with Chicago Fire (FC).

    No "activations" needed with me!

If the Fire and Mercedes want to "engage" their fans, maybe they can partner with Oprah's people and:

    "You get Mercedes.
And You get a Mercedes..." at the first home game
