http://www.dailysouthtown.com/southtown/dsindex/30-ds1.htm "The 1,500 club seat holders will have exclusive access on game days to the Illinois soccer hall of fame and the soccer pub"This doesn't seem right. Why would you keep out people who want to see the hall of fame and spend money in the pub. I maybe can understand the pub but not the hall of fame.Yes others can go on non-game days but how many will do that?Seems a little elitist. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune...tadium,1,2903394.story?coll=cs-home-headlines http://www.dailyherald.com/sports/sports_story.asp?intid=3832195
The HDC is the same way on game day, you have to be a vip to get into the stadium club/bar. It is crowded enough during the game just for those individuals.
On game days only, I don't see any good in making the pub exclusive after the game though, so hopefully it's not. I'd expect Section 8 fans to be those that frequent the pub the most so cutting them out seems weird, maybe durring the game but after, no. Flat out the HDC has made money but it has been moderately mismanaged and some of the restrictions on fans, no drum sticks, seem retarded. I expect PW to lay down the law with some of the Morons in AEG, a minority, and come through like he always does.
"And with the images and drawings accompanying this story, fans can get their first look at the new home for Chicago's professional soccer team". Other than the one image of the exterior of the stadium, where can we see the other pictures? Is that something that is in the paper but didn't make it into the online version?
As long as the stadium provides wide aisles for beer vendors to ply their wares during matches, who cares? Before/after matches, the pub had better be open to provide further bladder-fillers.
I gotta agree...well, at least with the 'after matches' part. I can understand the pub being closed to non-club seat holders just before the match, and during, but after, it should be open to anyone with a ticket (should make for some long lines), especially S8Cers.
Well, we have to understand that VIP seats are sometimes very corporate and the people are given tickets as a form of entertainment for business purposes. I know it kind of sucks, but I dont think it would be fair for some who drops a g note a ticket and gives it to his lawyer as a thnk you for a businss deal should be subjected to a bunch of drunkards like us!! I see both sides. Hmm maybe they will be able to resolve this issue. I would love to have a pint of guiness in the fire ale house
I want to see the rederings of the stadium damnit!!! SOMEONE POST THER DAMN THINGS!!! PICS MAN PICS!!! Oh they are showing them later today? ok
First off, Congratulations. I do have to say your stadium is quite impressive. It seems they have borrowed some great ideas from Old Trafford. I am just glad to see another stadium get off the ground. I have heard from someone in the DC organization that they will get their stadium in '07.
So many unanswered questions...like what will the Ticket Office sign really look like? The night version, the day version, or a different version?
No, you're thinking of the Nationals. They will be getting a stadium. DC United will be playing at a local high school.
not a high school stadium, RFK with a dirt baseball infield going across the field. We might play on a baseball field, but we are not Dallas.
Jesus that sucks man. Has there seriously been any good news about a stadium for you guys? I have to think that winning the championship helps, at least a little.
The print edition of the daily herald has a great color picture of the view of the concert stage and east stand.
