Damn, here's the thought for the day!!!

    From the Tribune Article

"No person is too small to have his problem addressed and no problem is too small to be addressed," he said. "Good customer service is the least expensive form of promotion and advertising there is."

"Peter has a down-to-earth personality," BRADLEY said. "He made it very easy to work with him every day. He's an excellent listener, he's always asking questions and he has a way where he sees the big picture.

"But the most important thing is the relationship he has built with the fans. He has a fan's perspective. He understands what kind of team the fans want to see and he wants to make sure the Fire can deliver."

Was this meant to be Sarachan?

    USA Today

"In the conference semifinals, teams played home and away, with the winner decided on total goals if both teams won a match. The Fire won 2-0 at the New England Revolution in the first game and repeated that feat at home."

    Later in the same article:

"For the conference finals, MLS instituted a one-game playoff hosted by the higher seed. Chicago dominated New England yet didn't prevail until Chris Armas scored 11 minutes into overtime to win 1-0."

Didn't realize we played New England in both rounds of the playoffs.

Sure they do. . .unfortunately, it's probably someone who knows nothing about soccer.

On the other hand a friend of mine who is a political reporter for the Trib is a big soccer fan. Has come to several matches with me. Need to get him on the sports beat.

    From the NBC5 Article
"Armas, forward Ante Razov and forward Damani Ralph are among the top scorers in the league, and Armas and Ralph are finalists for the league's various year-end awards. Ralph is up for rookie of the year, while Armas is up for the comeback player of the year. Head coach Dave Sarachan is up for coach of the year."

Armas as top scorer? And where is the mention of Razov as MVP, the top award in the league?

I know at any press is good press, but as someone mentioned earlier, could someone read these articles before printing them?

If the press is wrong, does that still make it good. Granted this is a worst case scenarion, but if they printed that the final is Sunday at 4:30 would it be good because it is publicity? Somewhere along the line, the incorrect information isn't always good just for the publicity.

Skinut is probably right, it is just the person reading it doesn't know WHAT they are reading, but any moron should know that you aren't going to play the same team twice (especially after you eliminate them) even in the wacky scenario of the MLS Playoffs.

    Didn't see this one posted...

Good to see that the Sun-Times potentially will have two writers at MLS Cup, as Padilla normally covers the White Sox. I'm hoping that Len ends up out there too and that Jennifer Jones deals with the Hawks up in Canada.
