Also discusses whether or not basketball is primed to overtake soccer- final comment "The more intriguing question might be this: with the continuing flow of immigrants into the United States, especially Hispanic, might soccer just one day finally take hold here and cement its palce as the world's No. 1 sport?"

    Send the guy a Fire/Section 8 scarf.

  3. Better yet, I'll buy a beer for the first person who can photoshop Obama wearing a "new" Fire jersey with our sponsor on the front. :D

"He is exactly the type of player we're looking," said Fuchsbichler. "Altach has made Jaqua an offer and is waiting for his agreement. I have been in touch with his agent and there are a few small details to settle, but I am confident that the transfer will take place."

    AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

Good God, have they seen him play? How can Jaqua (a gangly, fairly unskilled player with little ability to use his head) possibly be "exactly the type of player we're looking (for)?!?!"

But what can you expect from a guy named Fuchsbichler?

He certainly would have been useful when Rolfe went down

    Work with me here people...

My point is that if we had retained him and continued to built our offense around this statue of a man (read "feet of stone") we would be crying now about the league letting our franchise striker depart for the land of beer and really big lederhosen.

oooof - there's a mental image I could have done without.

Plus, we would have had to expose someone else to the expanding Canadians.

No, I wasn't wearing lederhosen at the time.

Hey, congrats to Nate. I thought he did very well with Houston. Also, remember that Nate scored the Fire's first goal at NSF and at TP. His tenacious pairing with Rolfe a few years ago was fantastic. And he's had at least two hat tricks in MLS.

I also think it reflects well on our team that a striker we developed has gone overseas.
    Good luck in Austria, Nate.
