I like the Dithejane sub, but it’s time to go 3 in the back, add another attacker and stop waiting for the perfect shot…gotta get one sooner than later to make points possible

Yes, he had a $20+ million value in just 2023 (but signed for Celta Vigo for free).
It makes one wonder why Celta Viga sold him to us for $3.5 million in January, 2025, after just 18 months in Spain.
Oh, yeah, he sort of sucked at Celta Vigo.

What? VAR checking for a penalty?

Red Bull player did get to the ball first.

    PK to the Red Balls.

Well, that should be the match.

Absolutely pathetic display since the 35th minute or so.

My statement that the Fire should blow the game open was a tad optimistic.

Gregg Berhalter essentially surrenders and "empties the bench" with the triple substitution.

    Pineda on (D'Avilla)
    Oregel on (Salétros)
    Shokalook in (Dean)

    Way too little too late.

We scored the opening goal and it was called back. We played the rest of the game as if we were up a goal even when we were down by three.

    Cuypers SCORES AGAIN.

11 goals in 8 matches played this season.

    At least that streak continues.

Wait, VAR is checking to see if there is a handball by Cuypers.
    Check over, goal stands.

There is also a possibility it could be an own goal, as well.

Fire just need 3 goals in the 8 minutes of extra time to win!

I need to stop adding losing to "lesser competition" and "Inferior opponent" as options.
The Fire seem to making Kalshi bets on it, I think.

    Wind
    and
    Berhalter!

The insistence on "building out of the back" is the main criticism I have had of him.
That, and he often waits too long for substitutions, but I hope that changes once we have our full complement of players.

Lofting high balls into the wind does NOT seem like a winning strategy for the Fire.

It's not like we have Kellyn Acosta anymore to launch a winning goal from 60 meters into the wind.;):whistling:

Cuypers just missed the header for a second goal.

The Fire were two Nealis ridiculous defensives stops from drawing the match.

    - That's the worst I've ever seen Gutman play.
    - What will it take to get D'Avilla out of the starting lineup? Both Pineda and Oregel are clearly better than him.
    - Defense definitely missed Mbokazi today.

We often struggle to break down defenses that sit back, and that was clearly the case today. Still could have been level at 2 before the PK with the MHS header off the crossbar and the chance cleared off the line.
