Guti slow to get back on back to back plays before the triple sub. Hopefully he gets a second wind.

I feel like we just got some calls oddly our way.

    Weak penalty...but clear penalty.

Pete (would not have called it but would not have overturned it either)

Was there contact? Maybe I missed it. Seemed soft at a minimum, but I'll take it after everything.

Does that qualify as something stupid?
Maybe Fire can catch their breath.

Glad to GGG rotating some players.
Wish he could rotate Guti and Cuypers too

Yeah but in my mind very late and too soft. Technically supports the call...but...

Pete (has this odd belief that you ought to actually earn a penalty)

I think Guti was rotated out of his defensive responsibilities so while still on the field less running.

Great team victory. Contributions by many was good to see, nice to see others beside Cuypers scoring. Guti played like the two-way box-to-box GGG wants.
Back row is learning to play together a little better but still has weaknesses and worries me.
While missed scoring opportunities continue, it is important to recognize that a greater number of good chances is encouraging and somewhat offsets “misses”.
It is also encouraging that the set plays are markedly better this season,IMO.

I don't know about you guys...but it just looked to me like the Fire were just working harder.

Pete (thought Charlotte conceded almost every contested play)

Good point. Not sure they were “conceding” but Fire worked harder than they did.

Nearly 30,000 fans in attendance tonight. Hoping in 3-5 years Fire will be drawing similar-sized crowds in the new stadium on a regular basis.
    Players and owners notice.
