Breaking news out of last night's Supporter's Summit.... Caleb Porter's authoritarian regime killed supporters groups. Individuality is no longer welcome. Groupthink only!
Some might have him on ignore, so can they? Which he reminds us every other week. - said Caleb Porter
I mean, I get that they have moved under an umbrella but your penchant for hyperbole is somehow even more insane than my own...

https://www.thisweeknews.com/sports/20200223/columbus-crew-coach-caleb-porter-optimistic-about-2020 Success has been defined, it seems.
Pretty vague coach speak, to be honest. Virtually every coach appointed in MLS over the past several seasons has expressed a desire to "play attacking soccer" and "possess the ball." "The best position possible to enter the playoffs in a position of strength" sounds like a record skipping. But at least he has his eyes on the playoffs. It's a start.
<yawn> Wake me up when he does something worthy of ridicule. Ripping him for generic coach speak before the season is petty.
I wasn't ripping him. My biggest complaint last year was that there was no definition of success. I feel like the above quotes clearly lay out what CoachBot expects from his team. So, in 4 months when we're all bitching about whatever, we have a documented bar by which to measure. Of course, it's generic af but it's better than "go out there and win games." Look - I want Porter to succeed and become the American Sir Alex right here in Columbus. I want to lovingly refer to the new stadium as The House That Porter Built. I want to find an online betting site to put my money where my mouth is and maybe make a little back. I want this team to be successful. But we have to define that success, don't we?
There was but it was off the field. Building a staff, cleaning the stadium, getting a new stadium, bringing in new players. You don't plant a basil seed at 9AM and expect to make pesto at 5.
Understand but we knew last year was going to suck and we were right. This year is when we should expect results.
Anyone that believes last year was anything other than just fielding a team has no real understanding of how decimated everything was, from the players to the fo to the facilities. I will say that it starts now, if this staff cannot win with these players, barring a rash of injuries, I will not have any issue with a “fire ___” thread. Playoffs should be the minimum.
I may be a possessionist but I cant stand this type of counter attacking soccer. Drives me crazy. We have a good defense and midfield we should use it.
