nope. parroting? no. If you go back and review my posting history ...I have said a lot of the things I said a long time ago, presciently.....just dont have the inclination to go back and toot my own horn for instance, I wouldve taken taylor booth to qatar....and I said it Before the WC roster was announced....pretty sure wynalda has never even discussed taylor booth on the usmnt, for example. and now look...hes made team of the week/player of the month subsequently. one of the hugest reasons I dont like what berhalter did ...is that he left soo much talent off team, at home, on the bench, unintegrated.... the talent level of the actual players berhalter used vs the possible talent level of all players he couldve used/brough to qatar had a huge and consequential differential, imo the first 11 almost wrote itself but 12-26 mattered a lot and berhalter got it so wrong for his roster for the qatar WC....its a firable offense....he just messed up in too many ways to even stay in the conversation
https://www.espn.com/soccer/united-...earnie-stewart-exit-leaves-leadership-in-flux Cone added that Berhalter "remains a candidate" to return as manager. Uggh...how is this even possible? Cone said she hoped to fill the positions of sporting director and USMNT manager "by the end of the summer." She later clarified her remarks to say that she hoped to have the sporting director position filled before the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. The sporting director, once hired, will drive the decision on a new USMNT manager. Yet again, the needs of the USMNT are backseat to the women's team under the leadership of Cone....why would the women's world cup be a roacdmarker on the timeline for a new coach? what do these people even do every day? why does it take 6 months to hire a coach? hudson for 6 months is inconceivable imo

Because someone threatened USSF if they rehired him, and now they have to legally keep him in the pool to avoid a lawsuit. They've hired a consulting company to re-evaluate the org and suggest a Sporting Director and do a prelim coaching search. I suspect that work will take a couple of months, and then signing the Sporting Director another if the target is available and ready to leave their job (which may not be until end of June if they are employed). Then you hire a coach with the same issues.
personally, i think it makes some sense to offer gregg a short contract in light of all thats going on... so we can fire him.
This would be the same level of mistake that feeding a stray dog is. If you encourage them they just keep turning up and become almost impossible to get rid of. I think USA Soccer should have no more contact with Gregg Berhalter or the rest or the Berhalter cult. The USA was set back by 8 - 10 years by Gregg Berhalter and the rest of his cronies.
if they are going to re-hire berhalter, they should do it now. letting the team drift leaderless for 6 months only to bring berhalter back woud be beyond asinine. is berhalter really going to just chill and stay available for the next 6 months waiting for his chacne to resume? I think he will...but its just all so weird.
Yet another example of terrible man management from Gregg Berhalter. Tim Ream felt so disconnected from the NT he considered turning down the offer. I have no problem with Hudson managing in the March Nations League matches, but a new US manager needs to be in place by the June matches.
I missed this when @ByDougMcIntyre reported it last week and I see Sam has it separately confirmed today:Claudio Reyna "previously tried to influence then-U.S. under-17 national team head coach Raphael Wicky regarding his treatment of Gio at the 2019 U-17 World Cup." https://t.co/0Ou89F3YsH— Jonathan Tannenwald (@thegoalkeeper) January 20, 2023
Claudio Reyna is out as Sporting Director at Austin FC. No surprise at all there. He will continue as an advisor to the club. It’s a more graceful exiting path than expected— Brian Sciaretta (@BrianSciaretta) January 27, 2023
When did Ream say he considered turning down the offer? Not in that clip. Considering he did accept the call and ended up performing well, I'd say that's pretty good man management.
He basically said he had mentally checked out of the national team and when he got the call-up, he wasn’t sure that Gregg and his staff actually believed he would be useful. This suggested Ream did not want to attend as a Roldan guy at the end of the bench, but only if he had a chance to contribute. He didn’t accept the call up immediately but had to sleep on it.
Yeah zero chance USSF waits until summer to hire a coach but then goes back to Gregg. That would look terrible for all involved, including Gregg.
happy as I am that gregg isnt coach.....its because I dont want his system in place this hudson 433 is such a poor setup for this pool, imo what is it now??? 4 goals in the last 8 matches? seems gregg picked the roster and lineups for jan camp too ugggh

People who do those kinds of things do not realize that it reflects more on them than it does on the object of their object of obsession. Doesn’t seem like a good trade to me.
That team underperformed and Reyna looked disconnected from his teammates on the field. I remember watching that and wondering how a player with those kinds of tools could be so disconnected and being flummoxed at how he made his team worse, not better. That U-17 squad had some decent players including Bello, Hernandez-Foster, Scally, Kayo, and Pepi and they got absolutely wiped. They scored in the first 3 minutes of the first game and then got scored on 8 times. Their only point came in a 0-0 draw sandwiched between an opening 4-1 drubbing against Senegal and a 4-0 slaughter to the Netherlands. I am shocked that Berhalter, who was essentially his uncle, called the Reyna show to the carpet and prevented it from wrecking the World Cup squad. Ballsy stuff. Like I said previously, if Gio grows out of this he will credit Berhalter for making him grow up.
