I think it'd be great if they put me in at left back. C'mon Tim....just for a little bit?

You would think the odds suggest the Rapids will score. I don't think so, zero's are wild again.

Maybe the Rapids will act as yet another slump buster for a team on the slide. Surprisingly, Chicago is hurting and without DMB to burn us on the wings like he always does, it will come down to stopping Damani Ralph. Without Pablo, that could prove difficult.

The big question is if the Rapids will actually score. I hope after embarrassing themselves and the organization on national TV on Saturday, they have a little fire in their bellies to redeem themselves.

I'm thinking Chung finally notches his first goal of the season.

1-1 tie or 1-0 win for the Rapids.

I see us once again in the slump buster role. The players right now do not look motivated at all. They are just passing time out there. Perfect example: Remember Rey Rey's first game and how good he looked? Where did that guy go? Right now he looks terrible, is it possible that he is still injured because he hasn't shown anything since breaking the toe.

No one is attacking and there is no linked play through the middle. That doesn't bode well for scoring. What is the record or longest goal drought in MLS?

Let's not forget, we DID score against San Jose 10 days ago. Too little too late of course, but a goal nonetheless.

Heres what the rapids need to do.

-start a chant during the game, "Fire Hank now, fire hank now, fire hank now" then burn hank in epogy and throw his flaming body on the field...hes about as bad as the rockies manager.

-the rapids need to get rid of their jerseys...they suck, we have done nothin in them. they need to go back to the green and get celtic type jerseys, and AXE THE ATLETICA!

-get an exciting young player trade the whole team for Zetela i dunno put excitement on the field, watching us now is like watching KC 3 years ago...BORDOM

Re: Fire at Rapids, 7/28, Pre/Post

That WOULD be something to see -- the Rapids staff and players chanting that! Many have been chanting similar things (and worse) and/or carrying a Colorado flag that says "Fire Hank Now" - for a couple of years. I think we should consider an effigy though, not an epogy (epigee?).

We didn't do that particularly well in the green and white either. I was always fond of the Celtic-type jersey design myself.

Something tells me that the jerseys have nothing to do with this poor form. It's going to take 11 players with a winning mentality, and who are willing to do more than just "phone it in". They may think no one cares if they go through the motions until management changes are made, but I care, and I want more from these "professionals".

The only good use of the jerseys, methinks, is to pull them up over the heads of the Fire players. That and a coordinated (de-)pantsing! Maybe then we can sink a couple.

Get a coach and GM who can identify exciting young players, and not trade them for discovery picks for washed-up, over-the-hill, 30-something Europeans on their last legs. Have the coach use a system that allows players to be used to their potential, not out-of-position. And, have that coach know what that system is BEFORE he employs it, and stocks it with the wrong players (Szetela, Adu, Zizi, Powell or otherwise).

THAT'S what the Rapids need to do. (IMHO)

Seriously though - no Beasley, no Pablo, no real offense - either team. COL 0:1 CHI (late pen)

I plan to go, with most of my extended family, new friends, and others to tonight's festivities.

I plan to pre-game it up with Buck-a-Brat night (ahem) and the singular Brethren Fest (Come on!).

I plan to watch the game and dream about Commerce City, not something I thought I'd ever say. (CC is the site for the new stadium).

I plan to see the Rapids beat the Fire 2-1 as the players get really excited about possibly playing in a real stadium. Of course, they'll realize before the All-Star break is up that many of them won't be there, and we'll be back on form unless injuries improve.

Yes, I said it. The Rapids are going to win tonight! Take That, Fate! Karma's on OUR side today!

    Cheers,

This is crazy I know ... but I think we're going to win 1-0. I'm not sure why ... it's just a feeling.

BUT that game is still going to suck ... and I'm going to start yelling for Hankison to get fired.

Please ... all join in :)

Looking at what Fire fans are posting as their lineup, and seeing that that was pretty much their lineup against the Revs at the match that I went to, with the exception of Beasley...

I really think we can win this one. Seriously.

Andy Williams is flaky, and if he's having an off night, then there will be no service to Ralph. Even if he's on, Ralph is the only real offensive threat. I think Borchers is faster than Jaqua, believe it or not. Other than that, the Fire look really bad.

If the Rapids come out trying to win the game, they will win... I'm guessing 2-0. If they come out like they usually do, I'll go with the gloomy "all bagels" prediction.

IMO we have a more fluid game with spencer on the bench.. we were winning when he wasn't playing and this is the first game when he didn't start when we got ahead... he slows the play down...

I know it's early, but should this result stand, I have to say this: Hanki, if you continue having the Rapids play this style, I will stop clamoring to have you fired. For a little while, anyway. :)
