Can anyone steer me towards any articles that explain how the new stadium is being financed? It's sounds exotic and complex.

You can check the old article at MLSNET.com - it's in pdf format:

    http://www.mlsnet.com/special/events/dbfrisco0402/frisco.pdf

    Here is the relevant info:

HOW IT WOULD BE PAID FOR
    Hunt Sports Group - 10
    Frisco ISD - 15
    Collin County - 20
    City of Frisco - 20

    Other financing details:
HSG would pay all operating expenses and retain all revenues.

HSG would pay $100,000 a year in rent to Frisco to be deposited into a capital repairs account for the complex.

The county would contribute a maximum of $1.8 million annually from the extended tax increment finance .

I'm assuming that on friday nights the stadium will be used for Highschool football and saturday nights will be fore MLS games. So are they going to make it when they paing the football lines on the field it will be easily removable so you cant see it for the Sat. Night MLS game?

Has there actually been any discussion with the GM to make sure this is thought of, before they build the stadium? Also I cant tell from the design is that roof supposed to cover the entire side of stadium or just the very top part?

As I have stated previously, HSG received one hell of a deal from the local authorities. I am willing to wager the Burn will have an operating profit in 2005. Also, if I am not mistaken, HSG will be able to sell the naming rights to the stadium. Does anybody have a clue how much it will be worth?

As a resident of Frisco, I think it is a good deal for all parties involved. There ares some residents who dont care too much for the stadium but all in all I think it is a win-win situation.

I too live in Frisco and most people I talk to are very excited for our first true pro team. Not a minor or training team but a true pro team. Actually most of my friends would not had bought season tickets for the baseball team had they known MLS was coming for sure.

I just hioe that Burn will market and advertise it like the Baseball team did. They had something in the paper almost daily for a long time. They had also done a great direct mail which was coming almost once a week for again a long time.

The intelligent divesting that HSG has accomplished with the Frisco model will allow them to continue their scrimp and save philosophy.

The monstrous tax base will keep the project afloat for the unseeable future.
