    It's about damn time.

I still think some DIII school will sign him, though.

Some school at the bottom of D1 will probably take a chance on him in a few years in an attempt to become a big basketball school.

He has to get in line behind Clem Haskins.

Well, assming Harrick isn't telling the truth, he is retired and by "retired", I mean "realized he wasn't going to get a half decent job offer so he decided to save face by not trying".

"I decided it's time that I retired and that's what I did," Harrick told the Los Angeles Times in Friday's editions. "I had that right, after 43 years in coaching."

Good riddance. Bye, Lizard of Westwood. This puts to rest any fears that Dick Vitale actually performed a true hard-core interview. I got a million bucks that says Vitale told Harrick before the interview what he was going to ask and that he hoped it wouldn't impair their friendship.

As a Georgia alum, I am sickened by what Harrick has put the Bulldawg Nation through. Sure, he is a good coach and a terrific motivator. Unfortunately, his ethics are questionable at best. Dooley made a mistake in hiring him. Harrick is now gone and good riddance.

Now it is time for Dooley to go too. He has ridden the 1980 football national championship too far and is really a dinosaur. However, got to give him credit for the all around sports program he helped develop. Georgia is constantly in the top five in the Sears Director's Cup standings.
