So when mexicans ever bring up that trophy they won in 1999, it's scoffed at and ridiculed, but now ,it's important? Big soccer, big hypocrites.

Actually the reality is that Spain is the European Champion of 2012. Look, they even showed it on tv so it must be true just like Star Wars and Samurai Pizza Cats:

I know what you're thinking. This must have been clips from a rerun of the 2010 or even the 2008 celebrations after we won a tournament, but no, we actually won the 3rd tournament straight one after another. Mind boggling! No wonder we are starting to get haters.

Le sad smiley for le haters. :(

Spain hasn't been eliminated from a tournament since 2006. A lot has happened since then, except a Spanish elimination.

The statement is factually incorrect, see above ^.

For those who believe that the 2009 Confederations Cup "did not mean anything" to Spain, I guess that is why they put this team on the field for that Semifinal that they lost 2-0 to the USA (and Iniesta would have been there too, but he was out with an injury):

A very good team and imo a different era. Football has evolved since then. Many also forget the French made the semi's of euro 96.

That France was a great team, the core of their success was a well-organized back four and a masterful string puller in Zidane. Nonetheless, I would still put this Spanish team ahead because they have the more dominant system; simply too much flexibility in the way this Spain team can operate.

I'm not so sure. Even in their relative late/ decline phase (2006), that France team was a great match for Spain. The real match of the two at their best, in my opinion, would be France 2000 vs. Spain 2008.
