The Fire OFFICIALLY out of the Playoffs (but, really we've been out of the playoff hunt since July) and play another pretty sucky team but not nearly as sucky as the Fire. This is a very important match for Charlotte, as they sit 7th in the East, but are quite yet in the Playoffs. They are five points clear of the competition with 2 or 3 matches to play, so they are in good shape. A win will probably ensure they make the playoffs. I have nothing positive to say about Charlotte, NC or the entire state of North Carolina, must less their bastard brother South Carolina. Screw them. The "best" thing about North Carolina is the governor's race which has one GREAT candidate, Mark Robinson. He might be the greatest candidate for high office in the history of America. For those of you who have not heard, Mark Robinson is a ginormous African American far right wing absolute moron. He is transphobic to the hilt (but watches trans p0rn), believes women should not be able to vote, a climate change denier, refers to gay people as "filth," loves charter schools, claims abortion rights amount to "genocide," (of course, he impregnated a women and had her have an abortion), he's a Holocaust denier and an avowed anti-Semite (oh, sorry, he claimed his anti-Semitic remarks for years were "poorly worded"), MLK, Jr was a communist, feminism is "watered by the devil," women who breastfeed (in public) are "shameless attention hogs," coronavirus was a global conspiracy to defeat Donald Trump. Oh, and he was addicted to p0rn, was on an adult site "Nude Africa," were he claimed to be a "Black Nazi" and longed for the return to slavery, saying he "would own a few," and loved trans p0rn. He is the current iteration of the Republican Party in a nutshell. This makes me extremely sad to say. I grew up with a very Republican side of my family and I imagine everyone of them would be appalled what the party has become. Charlotte claims to be the Queen City, but really has almost nothing to offer. The NASCAR Hall of Fame, the Billy Graham Museum of racial hatred (okay, I added that last part) and another museum devoted to racing. I have never been to Charlotte, other than to the airport. I just spent about 15 minutes trying to find out anything interesting about Charlotte and basically came up empty. It is another stupid, Southern big city with virtually nothing to offer. They supposedly have good barbeque, but not not much else. Oh, Krispy Kreme first store was in North Carolina. Enough of that. As for the game, I only have one thing to say WHO GIVES A FLYING F&CK? The only positive that could come out of this match is a Chicago Fire win would possibly boost the Fire out of last place in the East. However, the Fire will almost definitely end up below New England in last place, as NE are one point ahead of the Fire but have two games in hand. The other teams the Fire are chasing are all 3+ points ahead and have a match in hand. Bottom of the East is almost assured. I don't even care to comment on who is leading Charlotte. Frankly, it doesn't matter. Sure the Fire will win the match, but it won't matter. Fire 2-1, Cuypers with a brace.
'Mighty' Tom Barlow has more goals in the past 6 matches than Cuypers, Gutierrez, Mueller, and MHS combined! Let that sink in, folks.
Uh, in 2023 we brought in the Belgian Golden Boot AND the prize MLS FreeAgent center midfielder AND 2 wingbacks! AND he was named captain in 2023... What more did you want the club to do for him?
The only running Blanco did was when he was taking penalty kicks (apparently, they don't count) and he was still able to take the team on his back with some questionable coaching (courtesy of "I'm still here" the Hammer. The Fire probably had better players back then and the amount of MLS teams was less so talent dilution was not a real thing back then. Anyway, the Fire are just as hopeless as every other Chicago team recent. The unfortunate part is that we are here and it has been over a decade of suck.
You did not respond to what I posted...you 'came at me'...again...obsessed. Shaqiri didn't deliver and he quit on us...making him clearly the most disappointing DP in our club history.
There was no reason to respond to the nonsense you posted, but I guess I will. He did not quit on us, but his contract was terminated by mutual agreement. He did not play for the Fire after May 18. Saying he quit on us.. (in brown font, for no apparent reason) is just dumb. He was the most disappointing DP overall, as I have stated repeatedly. There are a ton of reasons why, which have been debated ad nauseum, and there is no reason to discuss if further, but you cannot let it go. You bring it up at every single opportunity, again for no apparent reason. Feel free to be on your own D as much as you like. What you do on your time is you prerogative.
Not a negative comment. My wife is a retired English Lit teacher who eventually convinced me writers (and their foibles) should be respected.
Well, I'm red/green colored blind so that font looked red to me ...and it's not dumb...it's highlighting and descriptive. On one side Bunge is arguing: Which is nonsensical for the reasons posted And on the other hand you recuse his less than a quarter of the season's minutes with no acknowledgement of the listless performance, nor the early release to play 71min in the Euros and loiter for 6wks afterwards (missing 4 or 5 more MLS games) to work out a landing spot....our captain Contract terminated August 14th.
This thread is about the second to the last match of the season. Take your obsession to another thread. Or, better yet, just go away, please.
The club is not the FO or team. Fans were bitching about Shaqiri in 2022 because most fans are so stupid they equate running with good soccer. So yes, the “club”, people like you @overlap_old_coach, quit on Shaqiri in 2022 because you have no understanding of skill outside of pace.
