It will be interesting to see how all the differing confederations do as a collective at this WC. Qatar were very close to making the final of the CONCACAF Gold Cup. I don’t think Qatar are as bad as that first half.
Presumably a mix of stage fright, lack of match fitness. At times it looked like men against boys with Ecuador faster and stronger that the Qataris.
Perhaps Qatar screwed themselves over by spending too much time with each other and not letting their players have a normal club schedule. You want to avoid possible burnout but you need a proper amount of games under your belt for match fitness.
Wales playing three at the back here, very negative, USA definitely will be our hardest test , just hope we keep the same formation. If Bale doesn’t perform it doesn’t look good at all.
USA look very handy, energetic and technically good across the pitch. Wales look.....bad. Don't understand why Wales have dropped Moore for Bale and James who have no presence up front. They desperately need something to aim at.
US do look good but for all their dominance they only have the one goal against a poor side. Also, their defence is the weakest area of their team but Wales are too crap to test them. I’d expect us to put them under much more pressure in this regard.
Wales looked spent after about twenty minutes. Lifeless performance, Ramsey and Bale look so old. Its knackers yard for them I think.
Wales look petrified. I thought they were coming to this tournament to enjoy it with no pressure. Absolute shambles so far.... Let's hope it continues
Think the Titanic was more mobile than Tim Ream. This is the thing with the US, either they attack us and leave their poor defence exposed against our attack, or they sit back, in which case we’ll dictate and get opportunities. As for Wales, the less said the better, dreadful football. I think they’re forgetting that this is football and not rugby, given the way they’re just launching it aimlessly. Completely bereft tactically and technically.
He was born in the USA as the now First Lady of Liberia spent a lot her childhood there (Born in Jamaica through) and went there to give birth.
Why go to ground? I bet Bale couldn't believe his luck. He just had to shield the ball and wait for him to come crashing into him.
USA have looked ragged this half. They remind me of Leeds, hustle and bustle but lacking composure, quality in key areas and game management. If we play like we did today, we should put 3 or 4 past them.
Yellow cards seem so random in this WC. How did Harry Wilson avoid one then for killing a counter with a blatant foul?
