I don't understand why many people say Messi had a lesser game against Belgium. I thought he had a Riquelmesque performance in this game. His controlling of the ball and hence of the intensity of the game was flawless. On so many occasions he would receive a quick ball, tame it, move left, right, left, right till the opponent midfielders gave up, and then he would start looking were to distribute it. This is such a relief for the rest of the team.

Awesome performance by the whole team, in any case. I was expecting a spanking from the Belgians, because so far our defense hadn't been properly tested, but the few changes made by Sabella and the strong mental of the players won it big time.

Some poster initially mentioned our road to the semis, and I thought he was being very optimistic. But hey, here we are, congratulations for your faith!

Having reached here, and based on the experience gained in these last games, anything is possible.

Not the best quality but it´s as good as I could find . Probably among the top 5 passes I´ve ever seen.

 

Di Maria and Lavezzi need to try something called a feint....it works pretty well from I heard

 

Messi had to back track and defend a lot vs. Belgium. We don't want to see that, he needs to stay up there, fresh, and imposing that threat at all time.

 

Yea he even fouled Belgium a few times. I dont think Sabella will try to defend one goal lead so early if wasnt Di Maria getting injured.
