  2. I wonder if he had in mind to "bribe" FA members to vote for him by generous subsidies from the insane amount of money FIFA was going to hoard from this worldcup.

Isn't that how every FIFA president gets elected?

They don't have shareholders or investors to respond to ... so they don't have to cook any books. They don't have a mission to show profits.

Not that they don't watch it ... but China isn't in the WC. And the time zone for them is terrible for viewership.

The actual report is also talking about conditions for fans going to the games and in the area, not necessarily that those inside the stadium are at risk.

It's all a bit alarmist but doesn't hurt to make people aware.

I think it's also about fans getting to and from the stadiums. People unfamiliar with it can underestimate the effects and that's a risk for older people and those with health conditions (a lot of people). Agree it may sound a bit over the top but from a safety point of view, better to scare people into hydrating and taking extra precautions than have a bunch of people needing EMS services

    Fair point.

More people die from heat-related stress than lightning and we had 8 1/2 hours of delays at last year's Club WC because of a slight lightning risk. This is just a cautionary report that doesn't inconvenience anyone.

That report is perfect for Swedish fans since they will play in all three of those cities.

Hasn't happened at a World Cup since Mastroeni and Pope in the "Battle of K-Town" against Italy in '06.

I'm still upset they called back that goal for visual interference on Beasley. Lol

Curacao announced their roster for the World Cup. Will probably hold the record for least amount of natural born players on the roster. They only have the 1 (Tahith Chong).
