Anyone watch that Guatemala/Panama game, electric atmosphere. Insane. What an amazing 2nd half, would've killed to have been there.

I had a feeling a long time ago that Jamaica might not make the World Cup. If they do cross the finish line it will be hopping on one foot struggling and suffering.

Suriname should make it. But Panama has a chance. It will come down to which team can score more goals. Suriname has a decent cushion for now.

Honduras losing the way they did was a tiny bit surprising but I did try to tell people that Rueda led teams get into offensive funks that can hinder them.
This Group is going to be fun on Tuesday. It is ending the way it should end. Haiti, Honduras and Costa Rica all have to play for a victory to guarantee their ticket.

So we could end up with 3 Dutch speaking countries at the World Cup? 4 if you include Flemisch.

    yea,

    Curaçao only need a draw
Haiti win at home could push them in, Honduras would need to win on the road
Suriname need to win for sure, would depend on goal difference for Panama, Suriname winning 4-0 was huge for their chances

Yeah, I can see Panama winning big on Tuesday. Like by 4-5+ goals. Suriname would most likely make the playoff even with a draw, as I doubt the 2nd place team in group C will reach 10 points. I wonder if they're going to put the 2 C'CAF teams on opposite sides of the playoff bracket?

Good to see that all six matches kickoff at the same time, otherwise it would have been a mess.

So the ICE revokes a valid visa and then declare you're illegal and detains you.
    upload_2025-11-14_18-36-34.png

Several European governments have been warning citizens about the USA behaviour in relation to travelling to the USA.
Whether that will dampen the willingness to go remains to be seen.

Had he procured a working visa or was he traveling on the ESTA visa waiver program? Not covered by the article. I expect you need a working visa if you're on a speaking tour. The ESTA visa waiver does not apply if you've been in certain countries since 2011 or Cuba since 2021. He may have been caught by that. I wouldn't travel to the US without being certain that I met the entry requirements.

People could do with knowing about the restrictions on previous visits to Cuba. Not an unusual tourist destination from the UK and elsewhere.

The average soccer fan visiting for the World Cup will most likely not be going on a speaking tour in which they publicly offer opinions on ongoing controversial geopolitical events.

However, especially given the current directives in the executive branch, I agree some caution would be warranted for any potential visitor who has been involved in high profile events like this in the past or has a travel history that could be deemed sketchy by the US CBP. Even if they have a prior approved long-term visitors visa.

So you have to be accountable and actually do your due diligence and research before you go to another country.

Germany not really taking care of business yet.
Kind of surprised they are still scoreless at the half.

Not sure about Anglo Europeans but ICE has been systematically targeting central and South American families. Luckily Venezuela didn’t qualify but if I were Haitian, Honduran, Panamanian, I’d think twice before heading up here for the Cup.

There are a million Haitians in the US.

You also have to take into account the fact that the World Cup is going to be unaffordable to the poorer classes and middle-class Haitians, Mexicans, Hondurans and Panamians probably visit the US regularly anyway.

ICE is going after alleged criminals, illegal workers, visa overstayers, basically the bottom rung of "visitors" in immigrant communities. If you have a passport with the right stamps, the right visa, no criminal record, match tickets and hotel reservations, it shouldn't be a problem.

That's been proven to not matter at all.. there's been instances of raw Americans being detained by ICE. Modern day gestapo.

Indeed, it is easy to be dismissive of others' persecution, as long as they do not look like you.

British nationals would lose their minds if a blanket US tourist visa ban was imposed on them. Despite the influx of criminals from that region into the US, British nationals will keep enjoying fast-tracked visitor visas into our country.

Remembering some facts on current US visa restrictions:
    - Fully banned (zero visas): Afghanistan, Chad, Congo, Eq Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Myanmar, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen
    - Partially banned (zero tourist visas): Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Venezuela.
    - Restricted tourist visas (cannot travel between WC host countries): Cameroon, Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria.

Silly goose. If anything, they should reduce AFC and CONCACAF's first.

I think he is just not familiar with African futbol.

African teams have a lot more parity. CONCACAF and Asia are more top heavy.

Meaning after about the first 4 teams in each confederation I would take the quality of African teams 5-10 over the other two confederations.
