Long gone are the days when Norway bearing England was treated as if they'd won a war.

9 of the 11 Norway goals were scored by English born players tonight!

Jamaica doing what they have to do so far after looking shaky last round. Kudos to them.

Pretty dramatic finish! Venezuela really choked hard, but parties all over Bolivia as I write this.

Bolivia seem to be right on the cusp of being a seeded team for the playoff. And this win will give them a bit of a boost in the FIFA rankings.

    3-3 now. But still surprising.

Best player on the field is Haitian and he plays in the EPL as a REGULAR.

I think Haiti has a lot to say after tonight.

Honduras in the driver's seat for the World Cup now.
That said, they can still blow it with a couple losses to los Ticos. Let's see how it ends up in the next couple of months.

Funny enough, I actually thought Jamaica was the most likely of the usual CONCACAF suspects to miss out on qualification but they are sitting at the top of their group with 6 points. Meanwhile, my 'safe' picks of Panama and Costa Rica have 2 points each.

Still early but if Panama or Costa Rica end up in the play-offs they will likely be seeded

Honduras just doesn't lose at home under Rueda, like I keep saying this lol. Since Rueda has taken over, Honduras has only allowed 6 goals at home...

Manfred Ugalde will have his work cut out for him next month when they visit La Morazan to play Honduras.

On another note, Nicaragua looked really bad tonight in Tegucigalpa and you have to think, how did CR allow them to tie the game up, being up a man for more than 30 minutes???

This group to me is still far from determining itself for so many reasons outside of "talent" and "coaching".

More importantly, CONCACAF since they send 2 teams to the playoffs. Its quite possible that both C'CAF teams that go to the playoffs will be ranked above Bolivia (especially with Panama stumbling so far,). But also possible that both teams are below Bolivia.

Then again, whoever draws New Caledonia effectively gets a bye to the playoff final as well. So there will be 3 lucky playoff teams and 2 that will have it all to do (excl New Caledonia). Terrible/unfair format.

Yeah there is effectively only 1 'first round' matchup, who ever is unlucky enough to not draw New Caledonia.

    What we know:

Bolivia will be ranked around 80, New Caledonia around 150.

CONCACAF playoff teams: Honduras/Costa Rica/Panama/Jamaica are all likely seeded if they make it.

The AFC representative will be ranked above Bolivia unless it is Indonesia. Oman is projected to be ranked 79 and that will only rise if they get to the playoff putting them just above Bolivia.

CAF is all over the place but if the playoff teams are Cameroon, Congo DR, Burkina Faso, and Gabon; they will all be ranked above Bolivia and ill all be in that 50-78 range.

any format sending third and fourth class teams from asia and north america to the world cup instead of second tier european teams is terrible and unfair

Ah ok. I guess then its highly likely that Bolivia will be unseeded. I didn't realize how high all the AFC nations were ranked. And doesn't help that Bolivia only moved up 2 spots in the ranking with last night's result (to #77).

Costa Rica has a pretty meh record against Honduras even in their better periods. I think it's likely that they'll be sent down to the playoffs.

I'm going to go out on a limb and assume Iraq ends up with the AFC playoff ticket?

They've got bad momentum, though. Wouldn't be surprised if they miss it altogether

I think they won both their games this month and are supposedly picking up a few more decent players from abroad, plus it helps that the last round of Qualifiers are staged in the Middle East where they're familiar. I don't know, I'd place a bet on them.

Besides Di Soca Warriors, I think this might be an accurate picture of what the Intercontinental playoffs might look like.

You'd have to think that a CONCACAF team might be licking their chops at this draw.
