    Messi was so bad today

One of the worst big performances in sports history

This did not age well :)). Both were the weakest links in their team.

That Cubarsi clearance in the last min probably had a higher probability of being an own goal. As good as a goal.

I was rooting for Argentina (Messi) but I'm content with Spain winning. I'm disappointed that Messi tried to get Cucurella sent off for briefly covering his mouth/touching his mustache. I understand the desperation of the moment but a player of his caliber shouldn't resort to that.

Not really a fair comparison - those are all offensive stats and Rodri's main responsibilities are defense and coordination.

Conceding just 1 goal in 8 matches while winning the WC is one of those WC records that will probably never be equaled, much less broken. You could count on one hand the number of good chances Spain allowed all tournament. All while having the toughest route to the final among the 4 semifinalists.

Not all of that is down to Rodri, but he was the main reason.

That's a bit out of Messi's character but then again, it is WC final and you have to do everything to give you team some advantages. Cucurella also was freak out that moment, so maybe he said something.
Curbasi - Laporte duo are just as important to Spain's defense. Not taking anything from Rodri but he isn't the best player this WC.

Probably not, but the Golden Ball almost always goes to a player on the winning team.

But its true that it was a real team effort by Spain. IF someone was picking a Best XI for the World Cup, it would probably consist 50% of Spain players.
