Lamine subbing in. Thought he'd only be available later.

First upset in the WC. Spain can't get past Cape Verde. And the first goalless draw.

An analyst on the Canadian I watched showed how Lamine was dragging his foot to slow down his cuts while dribbling, suggesting that he's not 100% with the hammie.

Subbing in Lamine wasn't the biggest error de la Fuente made vs. CV. He should've adjusted early once he saw CV was set up in a low block because he left Cucu and Llorente to do the work of attacking wingers, which they are not. They posed no real threat from the wing except for crosses, which CV's defenders dealt with well since they were never forced out wide.

Evergreen Messi. First hattrick in WC and now is the all time goalscorer (with Klose).

Lamine was planned to play like 15 mins to get back his rhythm. So no wonder he isn't at 100% yet. We will see him at better condition next matches.

Horrible first game for CR , didn't do anything the entire match and wasn't subbed off , Bruno had an open goal to score and CR took it from him and wasted it

Rashford scores 4-2 to secure the win
wish we kept him , he can play as RW,LW and CF as opposed to Gordon who can't play anywhere

Good win from England over Croatia. Turned out to be a pretty entertaining game.

If England are as good on corners as Arsenal, which they were yesterday, they will be very difficult to beat. In fact, I think that would make them overall favorites. But it could be that Croatia are just terrible at set pieces also.

I was waiting for like 300 years for Modric to have a stinker like that for Madrid.

Didn't FIFA impose some rules on corners to prevent Arsenal screening tactics ?

Modric did have a stinker in the CdR final last season. ;)

Perhaps. Not sure, really. But Rice delivers a perfect corner almost every time. And Saka will be able to do the corners from the other side as he's reaching full fitness.

US with another great performance yesterday. The group is turning out to be shitty, but a good surprise nonetheless given the expectations.

Today we will find out about Germany better.

Some alert for the Barca season ... Raphinha left the Brazil game injured yesterday. No contact so it probably means muscular.

Japan destroy Tunisia. Whoever get them next round will have hard time.
He has been injuried way too often since start of last season.

Meh, its still only June, so most muscular injuries would be healed in time for the season. Brasil say its a hamstring, so the recurrent nature of it is concerning. So far he's not yet out of the FIFA Cashgrab.

For Culers, the only thing to do at this time is to hope that Deco/Laporta/Echevarria got the Gordon scouting correct. I REEEEAAAALLLY hope Gordon is better than what we've seen so far.

well so far he wasted a pk and a clear shot in front of goal , hope he does better

and now Alaba clears a shot from him going to goal

finally he scores , all we need now is an assist :D

He just scored another goal instead. Sadly, Mbappe will probably break Messi's WC scoring record before this WC even ends.
I reckon the assist record may last longer, so hopefully Messi can find that one assist.

apparently he needs one to equal it and two to break top assist of all time , can't believe Alvarez wasted 1v1 with the gk but it went to messi to score so it's fine i guess

Mbappe just scored , wonder how many can he get against Iraq
