I get that; but then it just turns into abundant stops and starts game. Too much interruptions in this game is ruining it. One of the reasons American Football is so frustrating to watch.

The game will figure it out. The reason why football has become a rule landfill is because the sport feels incapable of officiating itself and allowing the game process to naturally develop. It's a sport that emphasizes curation instead of creativity, so everything is being administrated to controled, by the cm.

A running clock during ball out of play situation naturally gives the advantage to the leading team. Every second the ball isn't out of play is to your advantage. Stopping the clock neutralizes this advantage, and by the time games take 3 hours long, the players will figure it out themselves that they need to speed things up if they want to go home the same day.

It would naturally figure itself out.

But it also gives teams with lesser fitness to strategically find ways to waste time. By extension, it might help their players recuperate and conserve stamina by taking many breaks to stop the clock. It almost becomes like the timeouts used in Basketball.

It has been a pretty exciting day for South Korean fans. Their team won a pretty exciting game. Also, EJAE (South Korean-American) belts out this absolute banger with David Guetta and Andrea Bocelli. The world cup tracks so far have sucked, but this one is definitely a massive improvement.

The timeouts in basketball are still timed. Just because the clock stops when the ball is out of play doesn't mean you're allowed to take 3 minutes to take one.

Remember how rules change a game: The 5 second rule for throw ins also makes long throws a lot less likely because the amount of time it took for what was mostly a CB running up to take a hoofing long throw usually takes longer than 5 seconds if you include the wind up.

In general, football is in a rules overcomplication salad.

Debate time: Who would you pick? Landon Donovan, Clint Dempsey or Christian Pulisic?

Do we mean peak, career overall or now?

I would say Dempsey, Pulisic, Donovan.

I understand Landon Donovan means a lot to US fans, but my experience from his time in Europe is that he wasn't really all that good.

Tlaloc (God of rain) here in Mexico really came out to celebrate as wellโ€ฆ Iโ€™ve lived here for 3 years and never had a tree fallen down to rain, at least three fell in my neiborhood today! :O

Funny you mention throw-ins, because Czechia's 2 best chances against SK came from long throw ins. One of them was a goal.

I found the rule to be used pretty loosely, might have been the time but i didn't notice a hard countdown.

The german team apparently have settled into the player that takes the throw in to be the first to pick up the ball unless otherwise impossible for him to do so.

As a TV personality? Lando for me. He's a decent colour guy.

I cringe when I see Dempsey on a panel, especially alongside guys like Micah Richards. Dude has no charisma whatsoever. Its just so awkward. :speechless:

Yeah, thankfully ROK found a way to overcome that goal as the winner of that match was always likely to finish at least 2nd if not win the group, which sets up a quite favorable draw in the KO stage. And I don't need to see alot more of Czechia.

The Fox One feed has an incredible picture quality. So much so that the Canadian red kits are bugging my eyes out.

    That shouldโ€™ve been buried, 100%.
    Bosnia playing smart. Good goal.
Watched this Demirovic dude for Stuttgart a few times and he seems like a handful for defenders.
