To be fair, any team down to 10 men is going to play for penalties, even more so if they've been outplayed the whole game.
FIFA already took the ball out of the net when Spain scored but it’s looking like the ref will have to kick it in the goal for Argentina this time. Edit: took them about 10 minutes to show a replay and the replay shows an Argentina handball before the unclear alleged foul by Spain.

Do you mean reviewed by the ref? I'm sure VAR looked at it, but if they call the ref to look at it, that is effectively overturning the call. Has a ref looked at a VAR check and not reversed their call once the entire tournament?
