Yes, they are not. At least it would have been good to look at if they did. But this version is just boring, Takes the joy out of football.

The main joy from football and sports is derived from the result.

Nobody went home dancing drunk in joy after he lost.

    OK then.

Seems to me like everybody is silly and wants to get robbed since "the facts are there".

More like this is the level of knowledge this view of the game requires.

    let’s be honest

how many here would use the fact that Spain got an extra day of rest as further proof of “it’s rigged” if it was Argentina with the extra day off?

It's rigged because Argentina is within the perfect muscle activation window while Spain have too much rest and their muscles will be sore.

If you can't see it, sorry, that's on you.

    Sorenessgate.

The proof is right there on front of us we just choose not to see it because of ~reasons. I guess we're all Barcelona, Messi or Argentina fanboys for whatever reason.

The two best teams are in the final, may the best one of them win. Both of them fully deserve it, played well, and showed character and personality.

I don't see this Spain side as a reflection of Barca at all. This is actually a very well-managed side, where players from across the country and continent are starters. They play nice football and are more direct than the 'Barca' era Spain. I like this Spain side and would love it if they go all the way.

Argentina on the other hand arguably has an even stronger side, but they only turned up once or twice this whole WC. If they play like they did against England, after they went down, they will make things very very difficult for Spain. And then there is the Messi factor.

Impossible to call this final, but my preference goes to Spain because they play nicer football and, as opposed to Argentina, have been consistently great the whole tournament.

High line, intense press, possession-oriented. There are alot of similarities b/w Spain and the current Barca.

Of course, Spain's defensive line isn't as high as Barca's which makes things a bit slower/less exciting.

Spain just play the current meta, a variation of it, rather. We constantly talk about "playing like Barca" but the truth is with so many Spanish coaches across Europe, variations of Spanish football have Pretty much become the modern starting point.

Spain are not “FC Barcelona’s national team.” If anything, this team is driven far more by its Basque core and by Spanish players from several different clubs.

The funniest part is that one of Spain's biggest stars in this tournament has been Cucurella, a Real Madrid player, not a Barcelona one.

Barcelona's supposed biggest star, Lamine Yamal, has been practically invisible throughout the tournament. You could have replaced him with Muñoz and barely noticed a difference. if anything, Spain might even have gotten more from him.

Pedri, who some people insist is the best midfielder in the world, was even dropped from the starting XI once Rodri returned to his usual level. Spain have looked much better with Rodri back in midfield, just like at Euro 2024, when Pedri got injured and Dani Olmo came in, with Spain arguably improving rather than declining.

And above all, Spain's biggest star is Rodri, not any Barcelona player.

Cape Verde is the first NT in history that went undefeated against both finalists of a WC Final. Of course, they went undefeated in the WC too.

Even the tiki taka Spain was just Spain.
Club football becoming so popular across borders has sort of created a completely new way to follow and identify with the sport.

Funny seeing the same accounts that hated De La Fuente and kept waging this childish war on him for not picking certain players suddenly become experts on him, his team and how they play. HAHA.

In 90 mins. Extra time loss is still a loss. If it goes to PKs, then it's considered a draw.

You are right. Thinking the entire world cup is rigged is definitely the sane choice.

How could I ever think the players mattered.

Maybe, considering my input only covers the football and not the "behind the scenes" aspect of it.

You're the one that said there's somehow proof of manipulated results BTW. Not gonna hold my breath for that one.

This is a disingenuous argument because it is not one small detail that makes it look rigged, it is the cumulative... one after another.
