It's officially on us to play the Avengers today. The math is simple. If you enjoy watching football played without a referee's thumb on the scale or if you just don't hold an Argentine passport, you are wearing the Three Lions tonight.
Or you just watch the game like a regular person and turn the TV off knowing that unless you live in Argentina or England this game doesn't impact your life in any kind of way.
You go ahead putting your enlightened Zen monk act and pretend your heart rate won't be spiking when kickoff hits tonight lol Rest of the football world willing to watch a deserved team go through are with the English. (probably for the first & last time lol)

Incredible
Deschamps thought that we were in the 1950's. You cannot play 4-2-4 in the modern game. I don't care people saying that this was 4-2-3-1. He had only two natural midfielders. It won't work against Spain's midfield. Perhaps, Portugal's midfield would even have waken up against the,
Olise and Dembele have functioned as playmakers for France during the tournament but I was listening to the Spanish radio shows this morning for a bit and they made the point that Spain played against France the exact same way the Spanish sides play against Madrid. Don't mark a player, isolate them in spaces they are useless in, which is why Dembele and Mbappe were always running into huge areas of the field they can do nothing from. Both of them being magnetically attracted to the corner flag. Wenger made the point that France just demonstrate that football has become about having a lineup of big strong athletes, but maybe he should fine tune his view a bit.
Spanish football winning = Spanish people being excited about football = Spanish people coming to the games across the entire league to celebrate football = strengthens the foundation of the sport. It has sort of become a custom to follow the world cup from the lense of an individual, but when it comes down to it, when the winner returns back home, the rest of the world will turn on the video game/show they're watching and move on, while the team that returns back home will find the streets flooded with a country who's love with the sport has just received a major boost. Mbappe or Bellingham winning the World cup is a days worth of photo opportunities at the Bernabeu and nothing else.
Club is heavily invested in their players winning BDR as Vini saga proved. Lobbied hard for Modric after Ronaldo left for Juve as well. Jude will need MOTM performances in both semis and final to have a shot at BDR due to no titles with the club though.
Can't see a scenario where Kane doesn't win Balon dor if England lift it. No matter Jude's heroics. Kane has had an excellent tournament so far so not like he has flopped. I think Jude winning it is wishful thinking. He might do what he did with RM though which is take away votes from Kane and having somebody else win it because Kane and Jude split the votes.
But this Spanish side arguably has no Madrid representation. If anything, doesn't it look worse for the club if they come home with the trophy?
That's a weak point and the club is arguably way behind the times on this. I don't know if this will blow people's mind but there's going to be an overwhelming majority of Madrid fans rooting for Yamal, Ferran and everybody else on Sunday. Madrid doesn't play in its own little universe. I've experienced the country you live in winning the world cup/euro multiple times and the way it pushes everybody upwards and generates upwards trend in general interest in the sport far surpasses whatever silly social media opportunity anybody might see with a foreign player that will eventually celebrate in France/London anyway.
If Madridistas are actually out here swallowing their pride to cheer for a squad full of barca teenagers on Sunday, it’s simply because Spain actually earned their spot in the final by playing brilliant football and surviving a gauntlet of heavyweights. I don't think it has anything to do with la liga season ticket sales in Getafe They didn't need a VIP escort from the refs. If England reach finals, you'll see people here actually cheer for Jude. Cause what matters is choosing actual meritocracy over Infantino’s heavily scripted reality show/

Olise is probably my favorite player to watch in the world buuuut this is 2 consecutive huge semifinal matches where he’s been a non factor that PSG one he actually looked like he was playing bad on purpose for a player of such quality
