Meh, he is lucky, that is all. Especially the goal against Belgium.

You know what's funny, it's that Spain isolated him with the exact same blueprint that Spanish teams treat Vini. Give a guy that runs into space all the space he wants that leads into nothing.

If Zidane takes over after Deschamps win a second world cup (freak statistical chance means he won't, but that's another topic for another day), he's got his work completely cut out for him.

Anything but winning will seem like a total failure. When he started showing interest in the job Deschamps was under fire, now the team is firing on all cylinders.

I was discussing the exact same thing with my father a few weeks ago when the world cup was starting. I was like we want Zizou to do great so for that to happen it's better for France not to win this one. It will be impossible to follow that and be successful. And I was saying hopefully Carlo will get his with Brazil and then 4 years later here comes Zizou. Obviously that didn't work.

I hope France wins the World Cup. They haven't won Euros since 2000 so that will be the immediate target for ZZ to achieve in 2028.

If England qualify, Bellingham will miss the SF vs Argentina. The yellow card is guaranteed.

I'm sure they'll target him with some choice comments to get him riled up. I hope he keeps his cool.

I really wish the Swiss stood a chance.

There is talk in England that Rodri will need surgery after the WC.

The most shocking part of this WC for me was watching the American broadcast and one of the actual American broadcasters immediately explain this properly on the spot.

What should come out of it ? Football Federations being corrupt, specially in South America, is basically the norm. This is nothing new nor surprising. Everybody knows AFA is corrupt. So is CBF. But its nothing to do with the team on the field if suspension is what you're alluding to.

Maybe FIFA should have realized more than 4 hours before the game kicked off that it tends to be hot at 5:00pm in Miami in July.

Too late to move it now.

    It's a coincidence, I'm sure..4 out of Argentina 6 games are/were 6pm ET or later.

Only 3 YCs all competition and one of highest fouls to cards ratio.

    The "Jordan Rules".

La Liga teams have perfected this with Mbappe, let the player beat you not his team and let the team drag itself down playing for that player.

Every team in Spain knows the objective at Real Mbappe (aka Mbappe FC), therefore if you just let him score the game basically ends at that point and you are free to go and take the win.
