I think the Arsenal boys might be over Tuchelism for a bit.

 

Blaming one player is such an English press thing to do. Please don’t fall into that trap. We didn’t win today because Kane wasn’t on the pitch. Ignoring the problems with the squad selection, system, tactics, and manager to focus on our captain who almost won the golden boot? It’s the toxic mentality that has doomed us. Because the FA makes decisions based on the pressure from the press.

 

Tuchel’s seems to really like him so watch him line up at right back against Spain if James is unavailable.

 

I have optimism about winning a trophy one day I just think it could happen without a striker.

Look Fireburn, I get you, I think. When you say things like Tuchel building a team around Lofthus-Cheek, Tuchel or the FA not being able to make Bellingham captain, because the press won't allow. Leaks being necessary to avoid slaughter from the press. I get that you are not saying it is the right thing, but rather it is your'e extremely pessimistic predictions about what will happen. Tournaments remain a massive bond to home for me, even with time differences.

I've given up watching matches at bars etc since the Italy final. Ended up with too many (non English ) people retreating to their idiotic club mentalities and just spoiling it.

I'm glad that this little corner of the Internet helps me to connect to home.

The highlight of the World Cup for me was the 2 minutes or so in the Azteca when Bellingham scored twice. Genuinely thought the mentality had changed.

There's an awful lot of truth to this. And it sums up how badly modern Britain is governed (in general) and how nothing works properly in this country.

Even with the FA's decision to hire Tuchel. I'm convinced this was the direct result of the discourse scapegoating England's issues all on Southgate.

It's quite funny actually, because you've got the behaviour of the FA (who don't have a clue) being driven by the English fans/media (who also don't have a clue) .

It's literally the blind leading the blind..

I can't see any reason to slag of Kane, just because we scored 6 goals without him in a bronze final. And yes, I want Bellingham as captain, but this is due to nothing done wrong by Kane, but rather building on how special Bellingham is, show that we know, recognice him at that we want to give him the highest level of trust.

The Fa are going to see this and give Tuchel a new contract to 2030.

The third place ceremony was pretty pathetic. Just medals, no brown trophy, no fireworks. No music, nothing. Just receive the medal, stand on this podium and go home.

 

The FA aren't going to act that hastily but this was always the danger with this game.

I said it the other day but our media are so outcome driven they just can't see the forest for the trees when it comes to England.

Crazy how fickle you have to be to be swayed by a game where the opposition were literally walking rather than pressing half of the time. Players were smiling when they conceded.

If Tuchel has a good Nations League and qualifying campaign off the back of this then yeah, there's every chance he gets extended to 2030 before the Euros. We know it works like that.

 

I find myself in an uneasy situation, if anyone has said to me before the tournament we would finish third with the squad that was picked I’d have snapped their hand off to be honest as I didn’t think we would do much better but after the other night which Tuchels screw ups I feel conflicted. Even though he won’t admit it plus the flaws in his squad selections, will he have learnt lessons from this? I just don’t know but you have to hope he has but I’m not confident about it.

 

How many of these England players will get in the team of the tournament? Bellingham definitely but can't really think of anyone else

 

Also no Trump to hand out the medals!
