England is a great country with a great culture. Spain is too.

My view is that I couldn't care less about what the Norwegians think.

What's never mentioned is that there was an obvious hand ball in the build up with West Germany's first goal in the final.

Also, there was a stonewall penalty not given in the 1970 match.

Yet the focus is on one incident.

It will be a very different match against Argentina. We will see soon enough. Of course England is capable of beating anyone.

Thomas Tuchel has promised to go easy on his battered England players as they attempt to shake off illness and injuries in time for Wednesday's World Cup semi-final against Argentina - Daily Telegraph

Police in Atlanta have been made aware of the historical context of England's World Cup semi-final on Wednesday, with the authorities preparing for a complex operation mindful that there will be limited segregation inside the 75,000-seat stadium - The Times

Jürgen Klinsmann makes a good point here. We're not playing 433 or 4241 we're playing 442.

There is a lot of fuss in the media about Bellingham and Tuchel's post match interviews. What a load of nonsense. Every manager wants more from their players. They will never be satisfied except in the moment of ultimate glory, if it happens. Bellingham and the team will watch the match back and Tuchel will point out what they did well and what they could have done better. This is as it should be.

I would much prefer if the media brought up positive comments like Tuchel saying "there is no problem with mentality, look at this, this is mentality" or whatever words he actually used.

It was 4-2 but for 3-2 that ball did not cross the line. I can't remember which match it was when England went 2-0 down and should have come back to 2-2 but the ball which clearly crossed the line wasn't given.

I think we looked limp creatively against Norway personally. I think they were largely letting us have the ball and didn't feel threatened. As soon as they put their foot on the gas we struggled.

As often happens in games between a clear underdog and a clear favourite, depth won out as the underdog fatigued.

Ultimately it's a premature conversation because Tuchel's entire tenure so far is going to be defined by Wednesday night. I've just found some of the praise (outside of this forum) extremely excessive.

I hope the team is spending some extra time planning and preparing free-kicks/corners against Argentina. I think only Romero from their starting lineup is above 6'0, everyone else is shorter.

Also, coaching staff should be emphasizing being ready for provocations and reacting normally. No pushing, no shoving, no covering your mouth when talking to Argentinians (especially Bellingham).

I'm far more confident and less nervous about this game than I was Mexico or Norway for some reason. I feel very confident. I'm more confident about this world cup semi final than I was the 2018 semi final

I don’t think your confidence in anyway correlates to what the actual outcome of the game is going to be!

You'd think the ball went direct in off the cable (if it even touched it) for the goal.

I'm confident but more nervous than the previous games. I remember saying I wasn't nervous for Mexico but looking back, I was worried a lot because losing in the Round of 16 would've been brutal. Now there's a bit more freedom, however it's Argentina and you want revenge.
