I'd start Gordon and Madueke. Pace will hurt Norway so we need to look for that.

Regardless of fitness I'd like Konsa at RB. Corners will be a weapon for and against us and we need the height of Stones.

I agree with u apart from we need saka starting. Madueke has no end product. Saka's delivery is key. We need to get off to a good start. Then bring on Madueke and Rashford with their pace

I see this being a battle so I'd rather Madueke on first. I prefer Saka for final 60 mins if I have to choose.

You're spouting rubbish. Just because you didn't like something I wrote. Instead of simply not agreeing, you've now resorted to personal accusations.

Furthermore, I've had to live through all the same heartbreaks as many other England fans throughout the yrs. We're still yet to win anything in my lifetime. So you'll just have to put up with it, if before every high stakes game. (like a lot of fans) I'm cautious to blindly assume that we win, just because we have some really good players in our team. Unfortunately, I've learned the hard way, that's not how international football tournaments work.

Saka and Gordon will start because they are most trusted to track runners. That will be very important against a team that want to put balls in the box from wide and attempt overlaps with their full backs.

I didn't consider Saka being the superior defender. That's a fair point.

I'm leaning towards England winning this, but I do worry that Norway are so familiar with our game and we (as fans at least) aren't with them.

Thus will be a premiership game in the World Cup imo

Yeah, they have quality and an elite goalscorer. Have to be wary but hopeful of our own qualities. We should get chances but our defence has to prove himself.

Sounds like they are preping the ground for Dan Burn to start. With the Guehi Hamstring 'injury'

The cameras were only there for the warm up. Hopefully they were fit enough for the full session and it wasn't just a gambit to keep Norway guessing.

Great that they're only predicting rather than leaking the line up.

I think Rice will start as it's just a bug and he has been playing through the pain barrier for a while anyway. Seems unlikely though that Guehi's hamstring injury, which is said to be more serious than a simple muscle strain, will have cleared up in time, so I expect we'll see Stones come in. James being fit could be a big boost, but I wouldn't hold my breath over that.

Not sure that’s the best admission to make at the moment! As with everything Trump it’s very polarising.

Some fans are just inclined to be more abstract or pragmatic in how we discuss England and football as a whole. I don't think that makes us any less loyal as supporters.

And I'm not one to tell others how to experience their passion. But you do appear to have developed an unhealthy relationship with football Rover. It's as if your attachment to England has become so defensive, that everything else in the football world (and it's meaning) gradually shrank around you.

Its like your entire football worldview is so centered around protecting the status of England, to the extent that everything else in the game and how you interpret it has all now become downstream of that.

Now I'm not suggesting that rivalries, tribalism and staying loyal to your team are not relevant , they're obviously all very much part of the game. However you are honestly the most extreme example I've ever come across on this.

Maradona was mates with Fidel Castro and you can go down the list of athletes socializing with polarizing political figures. Kane golfing with Trump is a non-story except for those who have TDS. If any other president or PM invited me to play pickle ball, I would show up. It's also weird how we're finding out about this a year and a half later, which sounds like somebody waited to reveal this in order to cause controversy when there is none.

Just like Mexico, I feel good about the Norway game and pretty chill. Am I worried if we lose? Absolutely. Will I get nervous? Most likely in the waining hours before kickoff.

People will talk about Haaland and he is terrifying, but he needs service. It's going to take a lot for Norway to hold down Kane, Bellingham, Gordon, and Saka given their defensive shape this tournament. Against a team like Norway, you need to take the game to them and not give them too much respect like Brazil did. They have quality players but ultimately they flow through one man, Odegaard so they can get it to Haaland in the box.

I'll leave the score predictions for the rest of you, but I predict an England win.

Harry Kane's career started out slow, but eventually in 2015 he exploded into a world class striker. Now he's playing his best ever football and I think he's still got a few more years left in his prime because he keeps getting better.

It's unbelievable how far he's come given how he wasn't a prodigy in his youth. He stayed after training to watch Jermaine Defoe and Robbie Keane train. He went on loan Leyton Orient, Millwall, Norwich (only three games), and Leicester City. He had to work extremely hard to survive for several years until one day becoming Tottenham's best player 11 years ago and the rest is history.

England's blessed to have a player of Kane's ability and most of all his character as a man. You never hear anything bad about him off the field and I've honestly found a newfound appreciation for him because he's England's superstar and he personifies what a true professional should be. Win or lose, I don't think this will be Kane's last time at a World Cup, but just take a moment to appreciate what he's done and who he is. I personally believe England's 2026 World Cup campaign will mirror Kane's career.

He's my favorite footballer I've ever watched and I doubt there will be another when he retires.

Looks right doesn't it? We have a good record against Argentina and on form we stand a good chance against them. One of their three wins against us was a handball goal so doesn't really count as a bona fide win. Let's score first early on tonight to settle nerves.
